Just had the frame polished. What do you think? http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/norriesbuellxb9s/images/5-picture1.gif http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/norriesbuellxb9s/images/5-picture2.gif http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/norriesbuellxb9s/images/5-picture3.gif Also how can I post these pics rather than just link to them? Great job on the frame. To upload pictures use the upload attachment button. Another window will popup on your screen. Use the browse button, find the picture on your hard disk and use the open button. When you return to the previous window use the upload button. Picture should appear. Your images need to be around 60k in size, if they are to large you will get an error message. After you press the upload button you will get an information window. Please read the information then use the close button. Repeat until done with images Use the Preview/Post Message button to see what your post will look like. If you are happy with the results use the Post this message button. This image was reduced by 25% to meet the file size limits. Hope this helps, have a great day. |

That looks great!! I like what you did to the wheels too. I was thinking about doing the same thing. What did you use, and what color code. |

I had the wheels professionally painted and they had to mix a paint to match. The frame cost me £200/$400 to have polished. Norrie. |

I have had polished frames before- look cool but you better invest in mothers or eagle one polish. O and if you get caught in the rain, plan on 2 hours of clean time. water bad bling good you should have had it chromed if you wanted it to shine. Much easier to maintain- good luck It does look good though, when I get my xb I'm going stealth black |

Hey, Norrie- Don't listen to all those who say it'll be a bitch to keep clean and shiny. I did mine 2 years ago, and never, NEVER regretted it. By the way, I have 23,000 miles on mine, and that's with a year off for Iraq, so I ride a LOT. Rain, cold, whatever. I think that the guy who will go through the pain to get it polished will have no problem keeping it shined. It's addictive- every time you hit it with the Mother's, the better it looks! Your bike kicks . Sherm (Message edited by bigsherm9r on June 11, 2005) |

Thanks mate. Yeah I've had polished bikes before. I don't find them difficult to keep clean. I am in the U.K. and I don't think we get Mothers polish here. I find Belgum Alu is really good. Norrie. |

Now you just need the polished version of the race can. |

I'm going to paint the can black for the mo and then get a stainless steel one in the future. I was thinking of getting the yokes and lower fork legs polished as well as there silver and nothing else on the bike is silver now. What do you think? I was also thinking of getting the calipers chromed but don't know if it will be to much. The headers look crap as well so I will eventually get them ceramic coated or get new ones. Norrie. |

It looks like you're on the right track. I'd agree with you, the headers and muffler need some attention now. Man that glistens! |

Another option for polishing is the small bit in behind the flyscreen on the sides. |

Norrie, Your bike looks great. As far as it being hard to keep clean, I find it easier to keep the polished parts looking good than the rest of the bike, eg. the engine cases, etc.

The brackets for the flyscreen are getting polished soon. Why dont you get the frame painted black? Norrie. |
