What was the first year for the XB series(2003)? Reason I ask is b/c I spent a few sleepless nights reading through the archives. I ran across numerous posts from 2001 that already mentioned the XB9R.It struck me odd that with all the hush hush surrounding the 2006 model(s) that back in 2001 we already knew about the xb's. Could some one explain to a Buell newb why this was or wasn't. |

Might be the Big Brother Harley lurking in the back ground telling them what they can and can't say. Don't believe that may have been the case back then. |

Kid... Pretty funny to read back on some of those archives and see how what the overall opinions were when the XB's were coming out. I enjoy checking out the "History" of this site. Shawn |

I have some of the first magazine write-ups. Not one of them wanted to step up to the plate and make the appearance of endorsing it as a great, let alone really good bike... |

Ya Midknyte I also have all the articles I could find. I ordered mine in February 02 and received it in May from Ill. HD/Buell. Couldn't wait and it WAS worth it! Ah I don't know what the big deal is, its just like x-mas, do ya open your presents a month before? I'm sure Buell will have 2 great new models for us and many more in the future. |

The Buell XB was introduced in August of 2001 as a 2002 model. It didn't make the 2002 deadline, so was reintroduced as a 2003 model in 2002. Fireman Jim Higgins and myself were to the first two riders to ride the first two XBs on a customer demo ride in December 2001 at the Long Beach IMS motorcycle show. http://caferacers.editthispage.com/pictures For photographic evidence.
