The service manual calls for 108-120 in-lbs on the front exhaust clamp. 48-60 in lbs for the 2 rear clamps. (NOt the Torca clamp)Someone on here said they bent their exhaust using the high front torque spec. Any helpful hints before i mess up my exhaust. who has had these "band clamps break" I didnt order replacement |

Surly - I'v crushed a groove in my muffler with that front torque spec. and also snapped a band clamp. I think it's simply wrong. I now set it to the rear spec. of 120 in lb. |

I crushed the rear end of my Drummer by using the shop manual torque spec. I use the "feel" only method now. I have been an M/C tech for years so I feel pretty comfortable with it. |
