I am having Transmission fluid leak traveling from the clutch cable and the primary on my Cyclone 2000 Is this because it has too much transmission fluid? is this normal? I hate to leave oil spots on the ground anywhere I go. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated Thanks, chiliz | ||

check: 1, trans fluid level (as you suspected) 2, o-ring where the clutch cable enters the primary housing either or both an cause the leak -- good news is both are relatively easily fixed! ;-} | ||

The o-ring does not come with a new clutch cable, btw (at least not on the one I just got). Not a bad idea to use a little thread sealer, too. | ||

I had the same problem, it turned out that the outer cover of the clutch cable (black sheath) seperated from the fitting that attaches it to the primary cover. I had to replace the cable. You know its gone bad if you can see the interior braiding under the black sheath. If you disconnect the cable at the hand lever you will be able to unscrew the clutch cable... First you back-out the ramp mechanism on the clutch so it detaches from the basket. You do this by turning the small screw located dead center behind your derby cover with a small screwdriver clockwise. Be careful not to drop any part of the ramp into the primary. You would need to do the same thing to replace the o-ring too. Do you have a service manual? | ||

I actually had oil leak from between the jacket and the fitting without the jacket showing any damage.Because of air flow the oil can run back uphill along the fitting and look like just the O-ring is leaking. | ||
