You'll have to ride a bit (~ 1hr) to get to some really good ones. But have no fear. You'll be okay. Be sure to take a peek at the DFW Metroplex section within StormFronts. I see you have road-racing experience. Motorsports Ranch is fantastic. My next track day is this coming 3rd. When do you move here? david |

HWY 51 and Farm Road 4 are my favorites. They are about an hour west of DFW. The roads are not crowded either. |

Oh, I almost forgot. About an hour drive north of Gainsville is Turner Falls. There are some awesome roads in that area just across the Red River. |

Here's the route Uncle_bob is talking about. We all did it as a group one day. I do variations of it regularly. http://www.forthefew.com/routes/sw/ |

>>>Any one know of any twistys in north texas or vicinity?, There are some dandy's and you are within range of the Arbuckle Mountains one of my old favorites. When we were building the Las Colinas area (SH 114 and O'Connor) I used to take advantage of the inpopulated area and the de facto trackto we'd built. Have Fun ! |

Derek, I live in East Texas, near Longview. The two best rides are SE Oklahoma (Talimena Drive) and NW Arkansas. NW Arkansas offers hundreds of miles of tight, technical roads with elevation changes and fantastic scenery. Let us know when (if) you arrive. Dago and I have said we are going to get together and ride but we have not done it... yet... Keith |

Keith, I'm 100% game. We need to plan something SOON. I'll be at Cresson on the 3rd. Will you by chance be there? |

You could always come to Houston and try your hand at SUV dodging on the freeway - that'll give you a thrill. |

I took a trip to NW Arkansas last August. The roads are incredible. I'm planning on a trip to Talimena later this summer with a group. Can't wait! Anybody interested in joining? I'll pass on Houston. Riding in a cab in that city is bad enough. |
