Ever since I was young I wanted a Buell. Its just something about them I like alot. But anyway I have the oppertunity to get a Brand New Red or Black 04 XB12S for 7,799+tax at the Harley dealership near me. They also have a Yellow and Black XB9S 03's for 6,499+tax. Do you guys think they are good deals? I asked my buddy that work at the dealer why they are so cheap. He said that all the Buells they have will be on sale until the sell them all. He said that they probbably wont get anymore in, so I guess they dont want to sell them anymore. |

I would seriously wait until july. Maybe some new cool models will come out. Even if you can't afford that new model or if you don't like it as much, many will trade in and the current xb's will get even cheaper. Have you demo'd one yet? If not, do that! |

I would get the XB12 at that price, I paid 7400 for my 03 XB9S because the local dealer was getting out, so methinks that is a bargain. |

Well my dealer is getting rid of them so they wont have any new ones that come out. I think the nearest dealer after that would be about an hour away and I dont even know if they sell Buells. I swear Michigan probably has the lowest percentage of Buell owners than any other state in the USA. I havnt demoed one yet bacuase that would make it even worse. I know what I want its just a question of when. |

Yeah I know Im so excited that sometimes I find myself shaking. Im going in on Saturday or Tuesday to work out the paperwork. Now all I gotta decide is the Color. Either Black or Red. Leaning more toward The Black 12 S. |

Davy: Buell population here in Louisiana is pitiful. Too many closed minded people think if a bike doesn't have 100+ hp; it's no fun. |

Go, go , go! What a deal! Maybe I should get another one at those prices. Course I'd have to store it out of state so my wife wouldn't find out... |

Go ahead and get the red one. It's faster than black. Not as fast as blue, though. |

I live in Michigan and have an xb12s. I'm on the other side of the state from you though (kalamazoo). Get the 12. You'll never regret a little more torque. |

I live in Michigan (Saginaw) and I love my XB12S. They had some Buells at the Burton dealership this spring. But most of the Harley dealerships that I know of are dropping the Buell line. Get the red XB12S, because I have a black one. That way maybe we could go ride the thumb sometime and not look like twins. |

I'm in Michigan(Petoskey), too. Don't hesitate to get one of those bikes!!! I own a XB9S. But if I were you, I would go for the newer 04 XB12S! Also, isn't the warranty longer on the 04 models? Either way - Go For It!!! |

Well my plans for the Black XB12S was to Powdercoat the wheels Red and change the Buell logos to red. I think it would look cool. I did a photo/chop with this and thought it looked good even with crappy paintshop. Well hopefully I will have some good news for you guys tommoro. If not Ill have to go back up there Tuesday (closed Monday). P.S. and thanks for all the replies, I guess there was more people from Michigan than I thought |

>>>>Do you guys think they are good deals? That is an excellent price and you'd be thrilled with either. >>>Imonabuss...You can always keep it at Court's digs. Technically yes, but a poor choice in terms of the "hide from wife" metric. We, as they say, "for better or worse" are married to much smarter folks who have established an excellent "intel exchange" system. We're finding our "ship it to the other" methods, formerly effective, are no longer working. But...next year we are growing up. Court |

The wife ALWAYS finds out. Those few times she doesn't is the basis of divorce! Get her a bike too! Those prices are good enough to do that. Court - can we put off the growing up part a few more years? I tried it once - it's vastly over-rated! AL |

Court...Now that's funny. I suppose telling your bride that it was shipped to avoid the sales tax won't work either, eh? Too bad that won't work on vehicles and big ticket things that need to be registered. LOL |

I found the growing up loophole. From a distance the grey hair gives me the appearance of a grown-up, but if you spend any quality time with me the truth becomes evident. |

"Well my dealer is getting rid of them so they wont have any new ones that come out. I think the nearest dealer after that would be about an hour away and I dont even know if they sell Buells." the H-D dealer nearest me is getting rid of all their Buells and are NOT ordering any more... hope this isn't a sign of things to come.. |

They also have a Yellow and Black XB9S 03's for 6,499+tax" i was gonna buy a inexpencive USED bike (black xb9sl) After adding Extended warranty, New tires ,(it NEEDED) and A race kit (i wanted) it was only about 500 more for the new xb9sx, with 1. 2yr warranty (factory) wich means no deductable & 2. A race kit .... sence it was new i know how it was ridden and maintained as a tech i would recomend the extended warranty well worth the money in my opinion..... asking for forgivness is easier than asking for permission those are ny words to live buy Izzinya P.S. labor for me is cheap the parts are expencive (Message edited by izzinya on May 28, 2005) |

Go for either one , you can't go wrong at that kind of a price. I bought a used '03 xb9s 4 months ago with 2100 miles for $6300 at a dealer, bike is like new, runs great... no regrets. At 45 years young and having not done any serious riding for 20 years, the Buell was a little tough for me to get used to. 1200 miles later, I think I am starting to get the hang of this beast. Just take it easy for a a few miles. Went for a short ride today...kinda funny to see someone almost break a neck to get a better look at XB. Have fun and ride safe. Mike |

>>>LOL - Your wife's friends know everything about you. They do. But I fear they may have underestimated our collective mental firepower. We have, just recently, contrived some of the most EET (extraordinary explanitory tales) to justify recent purchases. The key element is to toss in the "love and admiration clauase".....try this...."having this exhaust, I can ACTUALLY HEAR, constantly reminds me, as I wander the Western states alone, of you and how badly I want to get home.....in a week or two, maybe three" It's all about composition. We are battle hardened and time tested. Court |
