building is goin up fast. 5/8 plywood going on roof today. metal is delivered, maybe this weekend if crew wants to work in rain.....

I like the roof design, is that a prefabed truss or did you hand cut thoes? I worked for a framer back in the 70's and have always been interested in the different designs in different geographical areas. Down here everyone is using half inch OSB due to cost of plywood. Please post a pic of inside looking up at ceiling/rafter section.

trusses are hand built on site, 2x12 lumber with 5/8 plywood crown and corner gussets. open bay, 32 foot clear span, 19 foot peak. seems like a pretty stout little shop. insulation is fiberglass, R-30. should heat pretty easy with propane.will go fetch a couple pics......

middle of july maybe?? framer should be done in a couple days, then starts insulating..roofer starts thursday, doors might take a couple weeks for delivery. sheetrocker ought to be a three day job. i still have to do the wiring and plumbing myself, then partition off an office for my brother. he runs a courier/delivery business, needs a couple hundred square feet inside, and some overhead storage. i would be real happy to be in before august first.

I forgot you were from Alaska. I saw how closely spaced those walls were framed and said wow! Gotta hold up all that snow I presume... Congrats.

Whats the overall interior dimensions? Looks similar in size to my 50'x36' garage.

cool building.

besides the snow and wind, the roof is free span. the side walls must resist the spreading forces of the roof just by their stiffness.

another benifit is you can put in a foot of insulation!

cool.

I need a shed, I'll keep that in mind.
