Anyone have experience with Buell service at Milwuaee H-D? I need my speedo sensor replaced and they are very close to where I work. Hal's is tough for me to get to so it would be handy to go to Milwaukee.

The old style was really easy, but I saw one set of install instructions for one of the "patched" ones that was a pretty painful process (it took a regulated 5v tap from the ECM). Lots of connector dissassembly, etc, which can be annoying without the right tool.

Of course, you can just get the part and put your own 5v regulator inline to protect it, that solves the problem as well. I am out of the business of building them, but schematics are in the knowledge vault, and frankly you could probably go to walmart and get a $8 "car cell phone adapter"... choose any of them that are 5v out (which I think is most Nokia's) and just cut the right places and solder to the right joints to put that inline.

If someone is not in the mood to hack, it makes sense to go to a dealer.
