Not sure how many people read this posting but here goes. Sport Bike Night should be starting up again soon, I'll post a good day when I find out. I'm out of the brown hell come June 30th, but I have a few Rides I want to do before then. 1) Montecristo 2) Logan, got some friends up there I want to see. 3) Evenston using the back roads along I-80 again If you know of anywhere else I should see before I go let me know. Hope to hear from someone this time, Josh |

Sport Bike Night North is held at a little drive in dinner at about 1900 North and Washinton in Ogden on Thursday nights during the warmer months. Sport Bike Night South is held at the Chevron station at about 600 South and State Street in Salt Lake City. Not sure when they start up but from what I hear its pretty well year round as long as the streets are clean. |

DBird and I are attempting to put a ride together on the 14th of May. Current plan is SLC to Kamas then down SR-35 and around Soapstone River to SR-150. Up around Mirror lake and on to Evanston WY then home. Start time and Location are still to be determines but I'll post them here once they are set. I am scouting this route out for a larger group ride in June with the riders association I an part of. This ride is not bike specific so dont feel that you have to ride your Buell. Word of warning though; part of the current route 'may be' hard dirt track so take that into consideration. I have yet to get ahold of the ranger station guys to find out if the back route we will be taking is surfaced or not. Josh |

Don't forget East Canyon Road! This should be a great ride especially if the snow is gone. DBird |

Oh yeah forgot about East Canyon... One of the main reasons I decided Saturday instead of Sunday. I Have to wonder if they will have anyone patrolling the road if it is closed... its easy enough to get cycles around the snow gates... hehe but I wouldn't know anything about that... Imagine a 70 mile section of road clear of all traffic??? Anyway I'll try and get with the ranger station again tomorrow to check out Soapstone Bassin road, whether its improved or not and if that would be enough to get us around the construction zone. I was thinking show time 10am at HD of SLC; Go time 10:30. Side note: Do you have or have access to a GPS unit? I wonder if I might be able to get one from base seeing as 'this is for an official base function' (IE scouting trip for base organization ride.) Its not a need to have but it would be nice to mark the coordinates of the various turns and be able to measure each leg of the trip. Anyway I must get some sleep at some point tonight. Talk to you later, Josh |

Josh and Dave, checking in here from Riverdale. Old School (both bike and me). I'm on a 2002 M2. One of my favorite rides is from here, over Trappers loop, Monte Christo, Woodruff, Randolph to Sage junction, then Bear Lake and Garden city, snacks there, then through Logan canyon, Brigham city and home. Plenty enough twisties to satisfy a Buell rider. My son and I do this several times a year. He's on a Yamaha V-Max so the fun factor is very high. I leave him in the canyons and he leaves me on the straights, naturally. We would like to meet you guys at the next sport bike north meeting if you will hollar at us at that time. Thanks much, Bob T. |

Josh, I've got a GPS in the tank bag and the data cable to download into Delorme Street Atlas. I do have a Delorme TopoMap plot I could email if you're interested. My FirstGear HT overpants will be here this weekend so I am ready for cool weather. Bob T, you and your son should come along. My wife is coming on her Yam Vstar. |

Greetings from Williams Bay Wisconsin, Dave I would love to take a look at that Topo map. I am going to go through mapquest on tuesday and take another look at the route. If we cant get across to 150 we can always follow 35 back up to 80 and hit Trappers and onto Logan. Bob the invite is seconded here, if your son can get the time off he is more then welcome to come along as well. I will stop briefly at the rest area South of Kaysville if you want to meet me there about 9:30. I am going to open it to the guys I know on base who might wanna help scout the route a bit, and they ride a nice assortment of bikes. I am going to work it with my bosses, I may have to work Saturday, but I'll just get clearance to extend my leave the couple days. I haven't heard about when they are going to start Sportbike night up yet, I'll try and get ahold of T but my point of contact is gone 'till the end of the month. I'll let you guys know when I find out. Have fun I'll check in over the weekend, Josh |

My Weatherman where I work (ABC4 KTVX-TV) says we maybe snowed out at elevations above 9,000 feet if this storm pattern continues. Looks like rain most of next week. DBird |

His funeral is Thursday and I am flying home Saturday night. You guys are more then welcome to continue on, but as DBird mentioned there is a chance of snow up there this week(end.) I just got off the phone with the ranger station and highway 150 is still closed due to snow. I am planning a 200+ miler for our riders up here on base at the moment that takes a couple back roads including Trappers Loop. You are all more then welcome to ride along. We normally only have about a dozen people so its still a relatively small group. We will be meeting up at Northridge High School in Layton, not sure on the time yet though. Josh |

Josh, Mike and I tried to go from SLC, Immigration pass to East canyon and the road was closed at Little dell resevoir, so we did Park city, then east to Coalville, and back to Riverdale via route 84. Whats your plans for a route and what day? How about going to Morgan then to East canyon, then to Henefer, back west to Trappers and over to Pineview and back? Still looking forward to meeting the gang. Bob |

OK guys here is the plan: Since the majority of the riders are coming from around the layton area we are going to meet up here. Meeting place is North Ridge High School (about 2550 N Hill Field Road in Layton. Meet time is 8:30 am with the ride starting about 9ish. We are going to head out Antelope Drive and catch some back roads up to Pleasant View. From there we will head up North Ogden Canyon around to Huntsville and Trappers Loop. We will take Morgan Valley road to Morgan and then the north leg of East canyon to Henefer. Henefer to Coalville via Highway 86 then onto Kamas. If we can get down Emigration Canyon from I-80 I would like to do that, if not I-80 into SLC. Run up past the Capitol and out Beck to Bountiful. Up around the top of Bountiful and take SR-106 to get back to Layton through Centerville, Farmington and Kaysville. Gas stop in Morgan and Kamas is a top off/food stop, since some of our guys have a 100 mile range. |

To get to North Ridge take either Exit 335 or 336 and head East. 335 drops you on Antelope Drive; head east to Hill Field Road and take a left (North). North Ridge is the next stop light, hang a right at the light and park in the lot to your right. 336 drops you on SR-193: Head east to Hill Field Road turn right (South). North Ridge is the next stop light, hang a left at the light and park in the lot to your right. We normally meet in the parking lot next to the light, I will probably be one of the few there as the rest are meeting up on base this time. I should be there between 8:30 and 8:45. Josh |

Hey there UT crew, I'll be in SLC for my daughter's graduation through the weekend of 06/03. Wish I could drag the S3 along. I have a good freind w/ an 80's vintage HD down there and he's been bugging me to "bring my scoot" so we can take some ride together. I haven't done Immigration Canyon since 1989 (on an '84 V-45), it would be a kick in the pants to do her againg. Ride on! Rob |
