>>>Made by Vanson in the USA, IIRC This interests me. I have been trying ti buy AMERICAN made t-shirts. I do not think there is such a thing any longer since the closing of the last Hanes factory. A union shop steward came in my office and tossed a fit over buying union made American t-shirts. He gave me 3 names. As best I can tell these are folks who have cut deals of some sort and LABLE the shirts. The first, and allegedly premier place, I called answered the phone "hello"...."Is this LifeWear?" I asked..."who wants to know?" came the reply. It's her and her hub and nice as she was (later) I doubt they manufacture. I need to buy 500 denim shirts and welcome any input. Court |

Court, Contact LandsEnd. Last I heard, even though they've been for sale for awhile now, they still do stitchwork in Wisconsin. And they have a whole catalog of company logo'd shirts embroidered or screened with your design. Give them a shout and let us know if they're still doing stuff locally or if they've shipped production overseas. http://ocs.landsend.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ExecMacro/corpsales/CSM_HOME.d2w/repo rt?store_name=corpsales |

Court, I will email you a name and PH# of a friend that may be able to help you out. They do custom embroidery on several different types of shirts and may be able to supply what you need.

The embroidery is no problem. The folks who do the TEAM ELVES stuff are in MN and do a splendid job. My chagrin continues...there *appears* to be no such thing as an American Made t-shirt or denim shirt. I'll make those two calls today. Thanks to all for the help, we may find something yet. Court (P.S. - the same union folks who are griping are busy installing $97M dollars (quantity = 2) G.E. Turbines with MADE IN CHINA stenciled on the side in 10" tall letters. I'm not certain ANY part of a power plant comes from America) |

MAde in the USA, I am deeply afraid that we have waited too long to do anything about it. If we where to start a serious campaing to not buy stuff made in China until they allow real trade unions, real enviromental laws, real child labor laws and allow their currancy to float like everyone else I am afraid we would all have to go naked and our children would have no Barbie dolls. Aside from the pure awfulness of see Cour and I nakkid I doubt that we Americans could put up with the serious reduction in lifestyle such a boycott would require. I am afraid we are hooked on cheap goods and we won't give them up until we are all woking for Chinese owners. Not that I have anything againest Chinese people or free trade, I just want somethign resembling a level playing field. |
