I have an idea for the Fri. night ride..... We could make a run out to KCIR?????? lots of road to play on, getting there. Plenty of cool stuff to check out at the place. There's a Hooters up the Street....... OK, really I want to make a couple of passes...Lawrence doesn't sound like as much fun...Just a suggestion, I will leave it up to you girls. | ||

No Friday night riding for me. A couple of Non-Buell buddies and I are headed to Memphis tomorrow morning to go see "The Art of The Motorcycle" expo. Then headed to Oklahoma City (Home of Hooters) to see another friend. Miles, miles, miles!!!! | ||

Kccyclone - I doubt I'll be up to Friday nights. Sat or Sun rides I can consider, depending where.... remember, I am new at this and the bike is still (barely) under 500 miles, so highway travel is out for a while. Zhdman - I'll be at the meeting. | ||

Dusty, that's cool, but keep in mind we pretty much cruise back roads...Highway rides just aren't as much fun for short rides to nowhere. Sam, I'm good with the KCIR run.... we could all meet at the Other Place on Metcalf again. | ||

Lauren Sounds like your Friday will be a little better than ours. Have fun man!! Sam I don't really mind where we go, I'll go where ever the majority want to trek. Dustyjacket I wouldn't worry to much about Highway speeds, someone will hang back with you if the speed gets to high. Unless your going 40 or 45 on 435. Then your on your own dude, thats just crazy. | ||

I meant the break-in of 500 miles requires me to stay at 55 or less. And my wife is nervous if I am riding at night. Especially Fri/Sat. | ||

Ride direct is where Pele3 and I found the tire. We were just wondering how much Central would charge for mounting if he didn't buy the tire from them. Hey Andy, whats the status? I'm jones'n to get back on the road! | ||

If you take the rim into alter ego, they will mount it for around $20 bucks, the kicker is they couldn't balance my rim, so I had to take it to Central for balancing. Alter ego is off Shawnee mission parkway and I 35. Head west and turn right at I think the 2nd or third stop light in a business building with 2 others businesses. It's $34 dollar plus tax. That's mounted and balanced, carry the wheel in or ride your XB in. It's more for the front wheel, or for tuber's. Frank said the rear on a XB is a piece of cake. I don't think you'll find a better deal, but if you do let me know. Also if you need service work done, ALWAYS TALK TO FRANK OR I FIRST, NEVER TALK TO BUS OR BOB!!!! THEY'LL ONLY PIZZ YOU OFF! | ||

Sam, Working on the boss. looks as though KCIR maybe in the works!!!!!!!!! I'll keep ya posted!! Oh and Hooter's ("The Happy Place"  has since moved to Blue Springs @ I-70. FYI Oh yea, the Hansens may not be able to keep up---but I will sure give it a shot!!hehehe Just kidding! Only if I can nail down third gear, I think I have def. tranny problems! The only bad part about you bring your own tire is getting both the tire and the bike up there. Unless you put both in a truck or have some one help you. | ||

Paul, the Hanses Brothers, myself and anybody else that wants are riding to Clinton Lake in Lawrence Saturday to the British Vintage Bike Show if your interested. Jim and Joan invited us and it sounds like a good time. It will be a slower ride due to my 10 year old daughter is going on her first long bike trip with me. Let one of us know if your interested. anybody else is also welcome just let one of us know so we can organize a meeting time/place. | ||

Pele3 $35 mounted and balanced is a good price!! I think Alter ego was $20 to mount and 10 to balance or something. Though they may not be able to balance it. I'm gonna just take mine to Frank next time for mounting and balancing, the hassle of alter ego's balancing shortcomings kinda sucks. | ||

You're ALL invited to the HoAME club Rally at Clinton Lake on Saturday, May 21st. It's FREE! There should be a good turnout of vintage bikes, plus field events (come show us how to do it!), a swap meet, BBQ on Saturday night (get there early to buy a ticket) and lots of great people, conversation, and fun. The Rally is at the "Bloomington West" Group Campsite on the west side of Clinton Lake. It should be a good ride from Kansas City plus great weather. Looking forward to seeing you all! It depends if I can get by the wife...... She thinks I'm going to get killed on the bike if I leave "the hood" at night. Especially Fri/Sat nights. Tonight will be the big test, as I am going to try to ride to the meeting. Good news, KCIR is actually on my way home.... kind of...... | ||
