Rob,
I will pray for your courage to stay firm. I admire your strength. If there is anything more I can do for you or your family in this time please let me know. I know I cannot speak for this board but I can say if you have a monetary need I will do everything I can do to fund raise or just give out of my pocket. Life is a precious blessing. I am thankful you have the opportunity to seize the day.

Isaiah 40:31
Yet those who wait for the LORD
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings
like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become
weary.

We all can receive our strength through Him. <><

Rob,

We are the same age. I will appreciate my kids and wife more today.

I'm glad you have experienced much in life.

We are thinking of you.

Man I am sorry to hear this Team. Yet the serenity with which you have announced this to us is extremely inspirational. I just hope that when my time comes I will be able to face it as bravely as you. I believe in reincarnation so I wonder what kind of bad bikes they'll have engineered when I'm reborn. But whatever, wherever we go to whether heaven or rebirth, I wish you nothing but peace and love on your ride to your Eternal Home.

Rob .. this is the reason that every morning before I leave and every night when I turn in I give my daughter a kiss .. never know when it could be the last one ... You have the strength and courage of everyone here ....and Like Scott/Spatten1 I was born in 67 too, this really puts a lot of things in perspective for me as well.

Travel well.

Gooood to have written, Rob.
Don`t draw the curtains before the night.
And remember that we all will be around you with our thoughts, lifting you up, away from earthly problems, when the sun sets for the last time.
God created those painkilling drugs: Accept them freely, when you need them.
Don`t be ashamed to keep us informed, as long as possible.
You are on your own now, but not lonely.
From now on, every time, when I will turn the ignition key, I will remember to send you good vibes from over the pond.
Hans

Rob,
After reading your post above I felt like I'd been kicked in the stomach.

Your courage and faith will carry you through this until the end (what ever it may be.)

I'm not far away, only a couple of hours.
If you or your family need ANYTHING, I'll do everything I can to make it happen.

Most here have not met you, myself included, but you are still family.
I hope all the sentiments expressed here help keep your spirits high.

I know you stated above that this may be your last posting but if you can, please let us all know how you are doing.
We really do care. If you can't, we all understand.

I don't even know you and this hurts......

Rob,
I took the day off work this morning for some illicit track time and felt really guilty about it until I read your post....thanks for that man. If things turn out the way you expect and I truly hope they don't, you're going to be somewhere where you'll have access to all the answers and if you can keep posting (even as anonymous) see if you can find out if were ever going to get a programmable ECMwhatever happens the very best of good luck to you, and we'll all be waiting to hear from you.

I lost my Dad to cancer when I was a Junior in High School (May of 1997), and he approached his illness and death much the same way that you are. If it makes you feel any better your attitude will help the people that love you more than you will ever know. From the time that the Dr.s said that my Dad was going to die till the day he did it wasn't about how he got ripped off, but more about how lucky he was for the time that he had. I'm sure that he was scared, but he was like a rock for my Mom and I right up to the end. It seems that you are walking a similar path and I just want you to know that the people that love you will always remember the good times, and the way that you are handling this terrible news.

God Speed.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intentions of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways on your motorcycle, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming - WOO HOO, WHAT A FRIGGIN' RIDE! PEACE BE WITH YOU, BROTHER

Rob,

If you ever want company thru this process, I am about three hours away in Willmar, MN. Always glad to help a fellow Bueller out. Been thru this a time or two as I have worked in Hospital Cancer Centers for 30 years now. Take it a day at a time, treasure the good days because another always shows up.

I admire your courage and dignity in these difficult times with your family. I have not been able to focus on work or anything today since reading your post, all I want to do is ride home and hug my wife and kids.

My sincerest best wishes to you and your family. May you find peace in knowing that you will always be loved and admired by many.

Go out with your boots on!

Rob,

After reading this last night I didn't know what to write, but I found myself thinking about your words and situation at work today. Although, we've never met, I deeply respect what you had to say and cannot even begin to relate to what your going through. But what you and others in this thread have said really has put a lot of things in perspective for me. This thread has truly impacting my thoughts. You never know what the future holds. I wish the very best for you and your family in the time to come. If I can be of any assistance in your times of trouble, please don't hesitate to email me Jaasonbee@aol.com or call me at 704-965-7510.

Sincerely,

Jason Bender

Rob,

You are a truly courageous person to have such poise in the face of such uncertainty. Mike is right; the mind is sometimes an underestimated tool. The power of positive thought is often overlooked.

It may be hard, but think of your family, think of your XB, think of the rides on your XB, anything that make your look back and smile. We are all thinking of you, thinking positive thoughts, thinking that this can be overcome. Given the circumstances, it may be painful, but remember that we are thinking of you, and all that positive energy is focused on you. Picture that around you, protecting you, entering you, cleansing you and purging the toxins from your body & spirit. The thoughts that bring you joy are your armament against what is trying to destroy you. Don't give up! Try and focus on everything and anything positive.

May the goddess receive you and protect you in this time of need. Blessed be.

Chris

Went on a Bike Ride up the North Shore of Lake Superior today. It was kind of rainy day and a little chilly, but it was still very beautiful. The Good lord works in Mysterious ways. He let me go out on my Ride to Appreciate his creation, and I felt Great. Soon as I got home Started to lose Vision in my right eye.. The Docs said this could happen due to where cancer is, Optical nerves could be affected. So I thank the Good Lord one last time for a good hard look around, So I think it's just his way of a sneek peek of the Beauty of things to come. So Thank you God, For giving me one last great ride.

Rob, Man I am so sorry, not only did I grow up right down the road from you in Esko, but I'm just 3 years younger than you. Hang in there my friend, Norris' advice might not be as far fetched as maybe you think it is. Besides, I cant imagine that having a good laugh right now wouldnt do you any good! Think of the sunrise in Duluth standing on Thompson hill too.
