does any one know the best way to clean the black finish on the nine engine? mine is cloudy after a run through a thunderstorm (9sx plastic can handle nickel hail I know now)and it wont wash off either side. |

If the black wrinkle finish is clean, use a product called "Pig Spit" (really! I don't make this s#!t up!) on it. It sprays on and the black looks factory new! I think S-100 brand has a spray product too, but I haven't tried it 'cause it comes in a smaller can for the same price. I get it at my local H-D dealer. AL |

I use a degreaser like simple green diluted about 50/50 and a brush (I use a dish cleaning brush). Hose it off, dry it off, and then I spray it with silicone detailer spray...don't even need to wipe it off and it looks great! |

be careful rinsing your motor off, if you have hard water you can undo all of your cleaning work without even moving the bike. |

Mr. Clean "Autodry" system. System employs a filter for the rinse to soften the water...no spots or deposits. Just use it at low pressure so you don't blast water where you don't want it. |

Honda contact cleaner Wasn't that invented by Harley in the late 30's then stolen by the Japanese and marketed thru Honda? Or was it invented by Al Gore (I invented that)? |

After the degreaser and a scrubbing, I found tire spray to work well on all the black plastic/metal. Can't remember the brand name (purple-white-black label), but got it at Costco. |

OK, while we're on the subject: I got Eagle 1 Mag & Alum polish on my black crinkle paint (2000 S3) while polishing my headers. Purple degreaser & toothbrush didn't get it off. Will any of these suggestions get the white residue off my black crinkle paint? (Message edited by whodom on May 17, 2005) |
