M1,I didn't say the 600's weren't modified,I said they were no where near as modified as the Buells, disagree? The only thing stock on the Buells in FX may be the wheels, every thing else has been modified.M1if the XB's are so great why haven't they won a race where they compete against bikes of the same displacement. They win the races that were pretty much made with the Buells in mind. |

Hogs,I have a Buell so I do practice what I preach.2 trannys in 24k miles I would say is a little more than just breaking down once.I agree it may have been the dealer, but the new dealer I have tried has had the bike since the Thursday the 12th and hasn't even started to tear it down,to many chrome parts to put on I guess.I have 24k on my bike ,when some of you get more than a few thousand miles ,then you can come back and tell me how you love your XB and its problems. One more thing M1,I am no racer wanna be so I could care less if the Japanese bikes can beat me,I don't race so why do I care.Facts are facts, don't like it drink some more kool-aid. |

Yeah I disagree. The Honda FX bike are pushing 145hp plus what is that slightly breathed on???The forks aren't original hell nothing is.You don't know a thing about the FX bike's.HP wise and being aircooled sets them in right with the 600's. |

Bads,How many races have the XB's won in FX?A stock Japanese 600 isn't bored out, they have a 6 speed that is stock,Buell doesn't retain the stock 5 speed. You tell me what is the same as stock on the Buell and The Hondas,I bet the Hondas are way closer to stack than the Buell.Funny how everyone on here talks about how different Buells are then complains when someone points it out. |

Someone remind me again why this arguement is important? Some guy said Buells suck on another website? Oh... I guess I should go sell mine right now. I was also considering that I should never play any sports again since I heard white men can't jump? |

Norris,I agree about buying america when possible,it makes me sick buying stuff made in China, but sometimes what can you do.That being said we as a country don't seem to take pride in what we do(I know this isn't everyone, but you see it all the time)all you have to do is look at the auto industry and you can see what I mean.Take when the Goldwings were having problems with the frame cracking,I believe they are made here in the USA.Take service at any auto or motorcycle dealer,8 out of 10 suck.I guess this is just how it is now |

Got1,reread my post,I don't know what fantasy world you live in.US automakers are having problems, they are considered less reliable than Japanese cars. How about customer service any where you go. |

Nevar, I would like to say that I agree with you on most but not the track. I know I am talking about a full race preped Buell with a 1350cc engine and a professional rider onboard. Josh Guyer from Bloomington HD/Buell was lapping Putnam Park road course at about 1:15 and the track record is in the 1:12 range. He was passing liter bikes on the straight and hitting turn one at full throttle. Maybe 160+ mph. He was also passing on the inside and outside of any turn he wanted to. I have seen his body work and he gets it so far leaned over that he scrapes body work. The bike has custom rear sets and a custom shift lever and rear brake lever to let him do this. The Buells can do more than I can do with it. I once took turn one in fifth gear because I passed about 5 other bikes and missed my marker. I just said oh SH-T and leaned into the turn and it stuck like glue. Sorry just my two cents. Brupska |

Brupska, I believe you. I was just relaying the reviews I've read - the stock Buells obviously don't have the power of the liter bikes and probably can't keep up with the 600s in the straights. We're talkin stock bikes here. Now before someone jumps in my sh*t, please read my original post in this thread. OK? Tim |

Ok No problem. I think it depends on the rider who is riding the bike too. Thats what I was getting at. I hope I didn't offend you man. |

Bads, why is that, because I speak the truth. Can you truthfully tell me that the majority of ppl you see take pride in their work?Talk about issues,I guess we should all just shove our head in the sand and pretend there are no problems.there are no import cars on the JD Powers list,no import product for that matter.Customer service is great wherever you go.You get a service with a smile everywhere you go. Bill Gates didn't say that we should let more foreign engineers in the country. Our education system is great,we are not falling behind.I guess I have issues because i think ppl should take pride even when they are cooking my burger. |

I really like my XB9S - I was trying to say that in my post. You're right of course - racing is 80+ percent rider. Tim P.S. Everyone participating in this thread needs to calm down! Maybe everyone should just play musical bikes for a year or two. When the music stops, switch bikes with the guy next to ya and recommence. Rinse .. repeat.. etc. Given enough time I'm sure we can all find something to bitch & moan about on pretty much every motorcycle ever made. Every crop has a lemon or two & a couple people on this board have found them so I understand the distaste in their mouths for their bikes right now. That is fine. If they need to vent let them. This is Badweb and we need to support those who feel they have been burned. Let them vent. They got a bad bike and now they don't like Buell. What's wrong with that? It's kinda understandable to me. I ate a couple bad meals in a crap resturante once and have never gone back. Where's the difference? The resturante still makes lots of money. It still has a huuuge fan base. They're not hurting just because I don't eat there and warn my friends against it. I'm not gonna get defensive every time some one has a bad experience and starts dissing Buell. They were once Buelligans like us and they deserve to be heard. I feel bad for everyone who has had an unpleasent experience with their Buell but it makes me feel even more (selfishly so) blessed for having a good experience thus far. On Edit: However, anyone who disses these wonderfull bikes without ever owning one or at the very least logged many miles on one, should be hit over the head with a very large stick. I have a Honda and a Buell - love them both because both are great bikes. Can't imagine why any real motorcycle rider would diss on another biker's scoot - doesn't really fit the biker mentality. |
