1. It's unique. You just don't see many around. It's nice to ride something that doesn't sound like an angry mosquito. 2. The powerband is pleasingly constant. 3. Invest in a torx ratchet set. 4. Make sure the rear shock is set to the right setting. It makes a BIG difference. 5. Most of the Harley dealers don't know much, except they don't want you to buy upgrade parts from anyone but them. For the most part, they are not a good source of information. 6. Harley mechanics like to set your idle at the "Sportster" 900 RPM. 7. Provided they are giving all the information, Amsoil Motorcycle oil is the best synthetic oil available. 8. Invest in better handgrips. 9. Harley apparel is @#$%#@& EXPENSIVE and it's more about style than function. 10. BadWeb is the best place for information that I have found, but there is so much of it, it can be confusing. |

11. Invest in ear plugs when you have an aftermarket pipe. Helmets like to make the sound echo. |

I use Amsoil in my Jeep Axles and I have to agree. The other benefit is that it is not too expensive |

I have had my first Buell for about a month now too, and I have to admit that after riding a CBR for a very long time - I WILL NEVER GO BACK I love the way my bike handles in those curves - it was what my CBR could never do - and the only thing that I wanted TO do. I have met the greatest people on Buells - they all really take care of their bikes. I had a buddy that rides a CBR and he had been ragging on me since I bought my 'bolt - so I dared him to take a spin on it. We switched bikes for a while - and all he could say when he got off was "Wow - I like it" and that's been the end of it. I'll make a believer out of him yet! THANKS TO ALL OF YOU GREAT BUELL-ERS OUT THERE!!! |

Buell, I experienced the same thing you have. I had a CBR600RR and I find that my XB9SX feels like it handles way better than the honda even with the taller handlebars and more upright riding position. |

I switched from a '95 ZX-7 to my XB9R. I'll never go back. Oh, and #19 It's great not having to lube/adjust a chain. (Message edited by justice on May 23, 2005) |

I sold a Ninja 600 and never looked back. You could not give me a new one today for my XB. |

You know what else I like about it - when you are with a group of riders - either on cruisers or sport bikes, and you start up your bike... They all look at you crazy because they were expecting a different sound - not that sweet rumble that we know so well. |
