hello all. Been learning alot from everyone here since I got my 05 XB9SX. First I love this bike like a new born child. I want to do some mods to it already, - frame pucks - tank bra - bar end mirrors - maybe different turn signals ???? any ideas? My first question is this........I am not really interested in performance as this bike is plenty powerful with my skinny 128 lb 5'8'' body on it. I just want it to be as loud as possible. I do not mind the noise and already have a whole box of earplugs ready. Which pipe should I go with? I Just want it to be retarded loud. If I got a D&D pipe, do I have to do any other mods to it , like the ECM mod? Or the K&N filter? And is there a specific pipe just for the SX? I know there is a specific ECM for the SX right? Is it stupid for me to put a different pipe on it without doing the ECM? I will say it again....I just want it to be as loud as possible, with the least effort....HAHAHA. Thanks in advance..... |

The loudest you can possibly get would be the Force or Becin systems... But the Drummer is also loud and has a great deep tone to it. |

M1 you can't run the Besin system. It has no O2 sensor port in it. |

Sure but the pipe was designed for the race Buells not stockers. His best bet is the force if you want the loudest. |

how much for the force compared to the D&D? |

the Gen II Force is about $700 I think... The force will require a PCIII with a Hi-po O2 sensor (Check Ebay) and a dyno tune as well. Generally about $100. The D&D would certainly benefit from it, but it's not exactly a requirement. This will also delete the chin spoiler, whereas the Drummer allows you to keep it. I have a Force and like the power (and sound ) a lot, but I like the sound of the Drummer quite a bit too. The D&D seems to be a good cross wrt sound between the Force and Drummer. The Force is VERY FREAKIN' LOUD and pretty raspy. The D&D isn't anywhere near as loud as the Force and is a bit deeper. The Drummer is nice and deep and just about as loud as the D&D. Personally, I'll go for the deep loud over something that's a little louder and raspy any day. Although the sheer volume of the Force is quite nice as well. I've been told it sounds like a top fuell dragster at higher RPM's. VERY freakin loud . |

Doesn't the sx come with frame pucks? or did you mean sliders (Dark Horse Moto). I getting mine soon (as soon as I can get my wife to stop spending money) Shawn |

The sx does not come with frame pucks or sliders. But they are both relatively cheap [compared to other mods that is] |

If you really want to spend money on the CityX, start swapping some of the cheesy black plastic for carbon fiber....definitely adds to the "wow" factor (and maybe I've saved 4-5 ounces so far). |

Do you happen to have the carbon fiber heel guards. I am curious to see how they look (Message edited by elff on May 14, 2005) |

Spend 400 bones for the drmmer. You'll be happier than with either of the race or jardine. I had the race kit installed on mine and felt like i wasted money later. |

Sinatra, instead of the tank bra you might want to get this. Air Box Trim I have one on my XB9SX and it looks good and protects really well. The only concern I had with the tank bra is it might move a bit rubbing on the airbox messing up the translucid box. |

Sinatra. If you want "retarded loud" have someone fab you some strait pipes like mine. Not exactly legal here in Cali, but if you're not gonna be lane-splitting you don't have to worry about people throwing cigarette butts and various other assorted pieces of garbage at you. |

i got a D&D, ECM, and K&N. Should have it all by the end of next week. I sold my basket case Buell Blast for $1200 plus two Dyno runs at a local shop. Going to do a dyno bone stock and one after my race kit is on. Anybody else dyno a stock SX? What kind of numbers did you get? What kind of numbers can I expect after the kit is on? Oh yeah, the guy at my local HD dealership (FREEDOM HD in Canton, Ohio) told me I would be unhappy with the D&D.....He said the Buell race can was "far superior".....He was a complete jackass. I loathe going into HD dealerships...Anyone else notice that it seems 90 percent of them do not like dealing with Buell stuff....Here in town at both the dealerships, they treat you like a scumbag if you want anything Buell.....Jeeeze, Im sorry I spent close to 10 grand in your store.....sorry I don't ride a lazyboy with wheels.....Buell riders are like the Harley step children.....Sorry for the rant....I get this way after I leave the dealership.....Hey Dave....thanks for being a stand up guy. Andthanks for having the D&D in stock....I cant wait..... |

Don't do the frame pucks even though they look cool. I purchased them and I am going to bring them back to the dealer. The left was not contoured properly in the molding process thus it didn't fit! Man, you pay all that money for something to not only find out that it is defective but the self adhesive is junk as well. I would expect a little better quality for what I paid and from Buell. Just shedding some light on the frame pucks. |

Have you heard a Force? There's no baffle in there... A 4" megaphone with a 2-3/4" opening... Long tube headers... It could be I suppose ... |

Kevin has some, www.kdfab.com But I don't think they are on the new site yet. I'm sure he'd email some. (Message edited by norrisperformance on May 14, 2005) |

That link is for a Nebraska station. Ive seen some of the drummer dyno charts separately from the Buell race charts and they look to be pretty darn close. So I would be very interested in seeing them. Thanks for the reply |
