Well, I know this has been asked a million times, but it has to be asked being I have a Deal's Gap trip coming up in Aug. I currently have the Pirelli Scorpion tires on the bike. I was wondering if these are decent tires for the Gap. I do plan on riding up there so tread wear will be a bike thing because included with that I also plan on riding to Wisconsin to visit family. | ||

Your Scorpions should work just fine. They may slide a bit if you're really aggressive. Have you been to Deal's Gap before? There are not many opportunities to get your bike much over about 70 when you're riding the Dragon. If you decide you need some stickier rubber once you get there, go to Wheeler's. They'll hook you up with some pretty fair prices and outstanding service done while you wait. Have fun! | ||

They gotta be better than the the stock 208s on the 12 & the 207s on the previous years. I wish I could give you a real answer. I was wondering if you could answer me a question. How are those Scorpions on a wet road? I've heard nothing but absolutely great things about the Metz M1s but The Scorps seem (from what I've heard & read)to have a good profile, be good & sticky and last a little past 4K miles. | ||

The Scorps are the best sport touring tire I have tried yet, I like them better then the D205, D220, MeZ4, MeZ6. I bet you get 5k out of them easy, and they do very well if you find yourself on gravel or grass. I have not had them slide yet. The Gap area is VERY hard on tires, it is a very grippy road. | ||

Well, I've gotten 7500 miles out of my rear on the Scorp. (Had them on since I bought it new.) I'll be rolling over to 8K this weekend. I've had many wet riding days on them (Florida) and can say they work wonderfully in wet weather. Never felt unstable. | ||

Thanks guys, I think when the stockers wear out I'll be going with the Scorpions for a well balanced all year round tire. The roads here get pretty damp in the mornings from the fog & I find myself on more gravel roads and parking lots than I would prefer. Shoot Metal, you live in CA. Your closer to the mountains there (Southern CA) than I am here in central Florida. I feel jealous of you. | ||

heh heh weeelllll..... I'm in Nor Cal and I do have alot of tight twisty roads in my area. I gotta travel at least 17 miles of twisty roads in any direction just to get to a town with stop lights. Except west. If I go too far in that direction, I'll fall into the ocean. But it will be a few years till I can go and embrace the Dragon. | ||
