Cold tires on glazed brick surface what more can you expect. Some times it hurts when your trying to be cool for the camera. |

It appears this is in Europe somewhere...looks vary similar to some parts of the Rotterdam/Capelle area I have spent a lot of time there. The bricks are generally not glazed in the road area although they may be a satin/smooth finish on the outside walkway areas. Note how good the traction actually was just before the initial slide leading into the fall... |

Can anyone say severely bruised ego? Oh my God, I'd have to kill the cameraman and burn the tape if I did something like that. Or at the very least, crawl under a rock for a couple years. The guy's probably as sharp as a bowling ball but I still feel sorry for him. That's a hell a thing to have happen. |

Every motorcycle dealer I've ever been to has a story about someone who crashed trying to ride their new bike home. |

Ouch I hurt for that guy. Watching your brand new bike crash has got to suck. Particularly when you have witnesses who can film it for you. Can anyone tell what happened? Did he hit the rear brake in that turn? |

Sounds like he throttled it hard and the rear slipped out from under him. I almost had this happen after I got new tires and they where cold on cold asphalt. |

Are we laughing at him, or are we honestly laughing with him, I mean, how many times have we been reminded about putting brand new tires on our bikes and to take it easy, only to do just as he did while in the parkinglot of the dealer...show of hands? |

He was stupid enough to be recorded as he was leaving. I bet he thought it would be cool to have his wife or friend record him after he got his new bike. |

OK, stupid question...what exactly do ya'll define as a "squid", as, being int eh Navy, I am usually called(by myself included), a "squid"... Sorry for the dumb question, but, curiousity got the better of me... Chase |

The only thing I see as wrong (apart from the missing helmet) is his right leg: Still not in riding position when already in the curve. Did he hit the rear brake? Those bricks have good traction, dry or wet. No traffic: Lucky guy. Hans (Message edited by hans on May 05, 2005) |

I think he just got a little too throttle greedy, hit the power band, spun his tire, chopped the gas and when the rear slowed and grabbed traction, Whamo! Honestly, I don't know. It's all too fast to tell and I can't slow the frame rate down. |

Chase- squid is usually referred to a rider who is not properly dressed and is more for show than anything else. It has nothing to do with you boys(gals) in the navy! Thanks for serving! |

I'd say it was the new tires and too much throttle. Funny or not it can happen to many of us in a cool moment. Be Careful |
