I know all this BRAG stuff with Gail's is new, but has anyone probed the minds of some of the other BRAG clubs on here to see if they've gone thru the same growing pains and asked them for advice on what and how to deal with the dealership and club problems? It just seems like there's a lot of info and knowledge that can be gained by asking other groups. I know I've learned a lot more than I ever thought I would on this site from fellow Buellers. I really don't want to get involved cuz I could care less if Gail's backs us or not, it's not going to stop me from riding. But it seems the powers that be could utilize the great resources that are on this site. Just my 5 cents. |

Dusty, if you would like to pick up the torch and be the newsletter editor for the club you are very welcome to do so. It could be published quarterly and doesn't have to be anything fancy. Sweetp, Hey it was time to go home so it was time to ride! It was not just I, but 5 members of the HOG chapter too. By the way, a bunch of good people. Dennis, sorry to hear of all the strife you have personally experienced with the dealership. Sorry to see you step down, I felt like you were doing a great job of leading the club. From my own experiences, and I emphasis "my own experiences" I have seen that Gail and Gail's is behind our club. The dealership spent a lot of money sending Chris and myself to Primary Officer Training (POT) over this last weekend. That shows me they are behind the club. I would also say that the leadership of the HOG chapter is also in support of our club. Sure they ride different bikes and have different styles, but it's about riding a motorcycle and having fun. The Assistant Director of the HOG chapter called the Buell a "real magic carpet ride” and he is riding an Ultra Classic, so there is an appreciation for our motorcycles. I think we as a group need to come to grips with there are really two clubs here. There is "The KC Mob" and then there is Gail's American Heartland BRAG Club. You are free to be in both if you wish or only one of them if you wish. We all have "free will" here. We also have to realize that the BRAG club belongs to Gail's and yes I'm sure it's to no ones surprise that it is a marketing extension of the dealership. It's also a volunteer organization and we are free to help out on events if we choose to again free will. As a BRAG club I feel like we need to focus on two things and those being "ride and have fun". It’s not the club's job to be a customer service liaison between members and the dealership. The club is here so the members can "ride and have fun". As for the Demo day, I'm sorry it went sour for some of you. I left that afternoon and had a great day! I road and had fun. So think about why you joined the club. Mine was to ride and have fun! |

Loren - I am the last person do do a newsletter, trust me. My literary, grammer, spelling skills, and creativity all stink. I was just pointing out some differences which might, or might not, be addressed. I am already failing at finding a balance between family, boating, riding, geocaching, my volunteer work for the USGS, my job, my duties at the Kansas City Power Squadron, and several web sites I support for free. Damn Sam, you must be rollin in it to get all that HP added . That's awesome, 117 + HP on a 9R, incredible. I emailed them and asked what it would cost to have the set up that produced the 107+ HP Buell they dyno'd and it was too rich for my blood right now. Maybe some day, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I was jealous LOL |

Dang man, right up top too. http://www.nallinracing.com/dynoroom.shtml NRHS Stage 3 head work NRHS/Axtell 88" kit (XB12 flywheel assembly) NRHS Signature Series Exhaust System Red Shift 585 Cams Bored XB9 Throttle body with stock injectors That's a lot of hp and an ungodly amount of torque. Can you tell me a little more about these "FREESPIRITS HIGH-SPEED FINAL DRIVE PULLEYS" you mention in your profile? And to get 1420cc your 9 now has the stroke of a 12 right, or is the stroke still the same as the 9?? (Message edited by enp83 on May 02, 2005) |

Looks good Sam,when you get it back would you be interested in dynoing it at Gails so we can see how their dyno compares?Several people have told me Gails dyno numbers seem low,and maybe the calibration is off,but you knowing what yours is would be a help to check that out. |

Sam, why would you turn it blue, from experience it makes your bike lose 10hp and 8ft-ibs of torque. If you change to a brighter color you will be pushing around 125hp and 116 ft-ibs of torque. |

OK, in order Mr Sweet, not anymore..... Eric, the freespirits pulleys were made available a little while after the '03s came out but before the 04 belt upgrade made them obsolete..... They MSRP'd at $800 and you could get them for torque or speed. (meaning both up or down a tooth in the front and a three tooth change at the rear.) I found them on a clearance rack at a very substantial discount The bike now has the stroke of the twelve, it's been bored and stroked.... Charles, I can't wait either.... Richie, Several People have told me Gail's dyno numbers seem extremely high, I'd bet the calibration IS off! Seriously I wouldn't mind knowing what it's doing at 4000 foot lower elevation with all that extra oxygen, but until they have a free dyno day or something I'll pass. Loren, I'm not sure yet when I will be able to make the trip, and for one I'm not sure Aaron doesn't have a trick or two up his sleeve yet(not done), and two, well I may have a trick up my sleeve.... Tim and Tripper, No and NO! As for all the hoopla on here lately.....I am dissapointed in some and REALLY proud of others. Life goes on. If you're not smiling, you're obviously not being as bad as I am...... |

Sam,yes you can get your bike dynoed there for free,I will arrange it with Mike.I have contacted Justin at NRHS,and he feels Gails dyno is reading incorrectly, low not high. But you can settle that question by dynoeing your bike, since you have just dynoed it in colorado and have something to compare it too.... How much does Gail's usually charge for a dyno run anyway, with exhaust sniffer? I think Olathe Suzuki was $30 for a regular dyno run and $40 with the exhaust sniffer?? I had both my bikes dynoed there once, '01 YZF600R made 94.2hp and 46.6 ft-lbs of torque, don't remember the SV650's torque but it was somewhere around 46-47 ft-lbs and 70.2 rwhp (at around 1,700 miles). |

Eric, I am not a doctor, more of a mechanic type and Baker don't make a six speed for the XB cases. Richie and Keef, Dudes! I just had it dyno'd!....extensively...over 70 pulls, and it is still in Colorado, and it might be a while before I go get it, and I am more concerned with re-acquainting my with the seat, and getting some miles on it, and there are plenty of dynos in town that would verify your suspicions, and I will let you know when I want to take my bike to Gail's to have it Dyno'd. I am a little impatient myself at times. I'm not counting any chickens.... |
