Dennis...Why don't you all take the dealership out of the equation and just go back to being the KCMOB...You can keep your BRAG national memberships so that you can participate in national events...And, hell, most of the Buell comms that are worth anything take place on this website...For what it is worth here is my bottom line opinion and this is not said without a whole bunch of experiences backing it up...You're always going to have some friction if you associate with a dealer/manufacturer...And the reason for this is (isn't it always?), money...They want as much of your money as possible and you would like to keep just a little bit of it...By associating with a dealer/manufacturer you are subtly saying to your members that is what they should be doing and many may not agree...On the other hand, even without the dealer/manufacturer involved, just the interpersonal relationships among members can be enough stress on a club...You don't need to add the dealer thing on top of this... Good luck guys...I am thinking good thoughts about you... Now, who is going to meet John and I in Bonnots Mill MO Sunday at 1300?... Bob |

BTW - Roger is at POT this weekend. He won't be at the dealership. Dennis - I am a newbie here, but I hate to see this happen. But, you have to do what is best for you. On the other hand - you'll still be riding with the KC MOB, right? (After I get another 180 miles on the bike, I can take it over 55mph, and I plan to ride with the mobbers.) |

Digger... If your visit involves a club/group activity... I need a break and won't be there. If it is more of a old MOB gathering... I hope to see you! |

Racerboy... What happens to the club affiliation with the dealership from this point on, is in the hands of the membership. We considered no dealership affiliation when we lost Central as our sponsor. I will continue my national membership. At this point I am a no-body in the club. What happens or what others do is in their hands. The goals we (the BRAG group) had, in my opinion will never be reached. It won't be because of the club, it will be because of the cut in stone resistance to change at the dealership. There seems to be internal resistance to change. Until they want to change (which I do not think change is wanted) it will never change. A club cannot bring change no matter how focused, if the dealership (and/or its staff) does not have the vision to see the potential of the Buell product line. The HOG mentality, or lack there of... rules their actions, demeanor, and their vision. I am very sad about this. I had great visions that would have been gold for both the dealership and the club. When you are using a tin can to scoop water out of a sinking ship, at some point you must realize that your efforts will not be effective. The comment to my son was not the straw that broke... but it was one of the last few things that in the days following the demo ride that factored in. Two apologies were due, one to my son and one to the volunteers (not in that order!). An apology will never come from someone who in their point of view did nothing out of line. (HOG mentality) Maybe someone else can step up and grab the tin can for a while. In hopes that the focus, vision and demeanor will change... and THEY will grab buckets and help. Quite often I joke at work about “I set my goals and standards low... as it is easier to reach such goals”. If this technique is used. I am sure the BRAG group can reach down to the standards, expectations and performance of the HOG group. What happens next is totally in the hands of the membership. I am taking a break from the club and am TOTALLY out of the local BRAG club. I strongly doubt if I will be any part of club activities because of this break... factor in that possibly by this summer I may go to Iraq. So I might have the opportunity after a year totally divorced from the BRAG thing to see just how well Richie does as BRAG club director. Since I held the position, I will have the unique point of experience to critique him on his success or lack there of! |

Now Dennis, You know better than me actually participating in any group activity short of a very long roadtrip to some great roads (ex; deals gap or arkansas). When I come to KC its always informal. The only problem is My old buddies have all gotten MARRIED! (Frank and Jason) and one has gone as far as having a rug rat (yes I'm speaking of you Sam). This kind of makes creating our own party a little more difficult. That whole obligation or I have to check with the wife thing. So I need someone around when I visit! What fun would it be to come to KC and not see you dumpster dive outside our restaurant of choice??? Plus I wouldn't have anyone to fight with over the contents of SAMS refrigerator! Keith |

First off, I just want to thank you Dennis for all the work you have done for the club. And secondly, this all has become so full of drama I don't think I want to be involved with the group any longer. I've met some really great people through the club and look forward to riding with a lot of you, but you guys can keep the rest of it. All I thought the club would be was riding and talking about riding, but it has just turned into a bunch of B.S. I wish all who stay in the club the best, and will surely run into you in the future, and as always here on the BADWEB. |

Hang in there Dusty. This too shall pass. The KCMob will never die, grow up or get responsible. Spring is here and there are lots of bike nights, beer and burnouts in the future. Besides, the KCMob doesn't belong to a dealership or to anyone. It is right here on the BadWeb, and it is all of ours to make into whatever we want. The fun will find a way. |

Dennis I hate to read about your decesion to leave.I have never said you didnt do a good job,as club director, when Dave passed to torch to you that was his decesion and it was a good one,and you seemed eager to get the ball rolling .I'm not sure what all was said Sat. by those at Gails, thats youre business,I guess it was enough for you to say enough is enough. All of us knew that it would be a hard go trying to Buellanize those at Gails mentally, but even re-education,de-programing,and de-brainwashing will take some time.I just know that its going to take LOTS of PATIENCE.You dealing closer with the dealer people than us,I'm sure you picked up on things we wouldnt or hadnt noticed,I just hope the things you noticed CAN and WILL be able to change for the better.I have never said I wanted your job as director,I'm not sure where thats coming from,I just said its up to ALL of us to make this thing work, its OUR CLUB to see pass or fail.By seeing you leave it has failed for 1 so far,and by you leaving it will have a ripple effect and those on the edge will probably just say whats the use and bail too.Maybe you just need a break from all the stress of putting so much into the club wanting to see it really take off,and then being disappointed when it doesnt plus seeing all the behind the sceens stuff.I just wish I would have heard those comments made by Gails employees to our club members,I would have probably made a spectacle by asking them WTF is up with that.Just like Racerboy posted,we dont need GAILS to have OUR CLUB,but we do need Gails if we are going to try and make a BRAG CLUB.Its only been 4 months at Gails,I wish everybody would just stay put and hang in there for a year to see if change will start taking place. The way I look at it is Gails needs US,or she has no club! PS.By your leaving I'm thinking Chris will probably be appointed by Gails, thats my guess. |

Richie - although the dealership may think to do that initially, it would be a bad idea to put one of their employees in an untenable position. Chris would be wise to dodge that assignment which could eventually cost him his job if he took it. (Been there, done that in a very different situation with the City and County of Denver.) JMHO. |

Greetings from Miami my old friends. Thank you Das, it was nice to chat with you. Digger, just a small point... KCBill started this mess. If you ever head east on I-90 look me up for a party. It will be a weak party but hey. Gails will appoint the director, possibly Roger. This is Gails club, not yours. They will tell you so. Call if I can help in any way. DaveT |

Boy do I feel your pain...You know, this is supposed to be FUN and it's killing me to see a bunch of great guys who are so damn active going through what you're going through...To the newbies in KC, hang with these guys if for nothing else than the riding and camaraderie...This too shall pass...But I'm suggesting to you all that you don't hesitate to go independent, as far as your local club is concerned, if you feel the slightest negativity on the part of the dealer...Let them get up to speed without you and re-test their waters in the future if you feel so inclined...You guys don't need this aggravation...Stay in contact and let them come to you... So, WTF, is anybody riding to meet John and I Sunday in Bonnots Mill...We promise to ride real SLOW...Riiiiiigggghht... Bob |

Hmm, I've never met gail and don't even own a buell YET*...but about the whole "this is Gail s club and she'll tell you blah blah" I'd be inclined to tell her to F off too. Have the "KC Mob" met at the ZIPS! gas station across the street until the dealership shows you some respect...or meet at a non Gail's HD dealership or just somewhere else. It's not like a group of riders who want to get together HAVE to be "sponsered" by a dealership. If they're going to treat you like a redheaded step child, might as well act like one.... |

Does anyone want to do a short ride up to Fort Osage, tour the fort, and return, some day? Or, is that too old hat for y'all? I am new to MO, so I intend to do a lot of sight-seeing on the Buell, starting in a few weeks. (I have to get another 180 miles on the bike before doing much riding over 55mph.) |

Hey guys!! If you haven't had an opportunity to ride with the living legends (racerboy and V2win), I suggest that you make the time to do so! great people, great riders, and they always know where to find the great roads to ride. BOB, sorry I can't make it this weekend. I could use one of those real sloooow rides right about now!!! remember to drop me an email or call if you head north again this year. Tripper, Your in Miami? I'm so confused!! If we ever do get your way, we will definately look you up! KCBill, sorry for the oversite, don't want to overlook all the great work you did with this group of great people. Its always been fun riding with you. Keith (Message edited by gravedigger on April 30, 2005) |

I got my replacement tire in the mail yesterday and got it mounted and balanced this morning. My friend who's shop I have it parked in had to go out of town and my muffler is in his truck, so I did not get it back on the road this weekend. I have some welding and fabricating new mounts to do and I would rather that my friend do the welding as he is a pro at it, my welds look like seagull sheeit. I am looking at buying a 93 FXR that belongs to a friend who is battling cancer, will have to see how that deal works out. |
