The top bike in the series (yellow, purple, etc) was part of a poster that was made with the S2 and a custom truck and a well...."custom" gal. The red, white and blue stunt was tried by the factory folks on some of the test bikes. The moment I saw 1313 with the capacity to mix and match colors, I knew we'd be best advised to follow what I'd refer to as a "monochromatic theme"......think of Brankin as the "anti-Smarjza". Great pictures |

My S2 that got totalled (not by me): On the Carving the NorthEast BRAG ride...this baby loved the bike, so we put her on it and started it up: And as I traded it in for my XB12R:

That's not rust, that's a protective layer of FeO2. If it were a steel bean, they'd just call it Cor-Ten or self-weathering steel. Ya gotta love it! Court |

Wow. Loving the S2 Golden Gate Bridge pics. But that's easy when you love red S2's, the sight of the GG bridge, San Francisco and the good people there. Thanks for sharing those pics, they're really very good. Don't have many of my own S2 but here's a shot from last fall with Oddbawl and his '96 S1. Running the 2.5" S3 headpipe required an "incorrect" air cleaner, but "pretty is as pretty does", eh? Fireman Jim has since fixed me up with a gorgeous S2 spec Buell race pipe, so the requisite angled carbon fibre air cleaner is back where it belongs. Hey, if anyone can fix me up with an Alice's license plate frame from Woodside I'll send you something uniquely Canadian in trade. My own Alice's frame was shattered when I got carried away over a level crossing on my original S1.... Great thread, some terrific looking machines out there. Keep em coming and ride with pride! cheers, Lawrence |

Court, Are you thinking of this bike shot for the Vance & Hines catalog. The other one posted earlier is the "sister" bike painted by me at the same time i did this bike for myself.

The 'anti-Smarzja'...I think I like that! Although it was Mike who helped me to decide on DED SLD for the plates on my hearse. The proper way to rid your S2 of it's corded rear tire (crappy film to digital conversion): Not all that monochromatic (if you look close enough or if the light hits it right): 1313 |

Rickie, Great to see you posting again. I met you a few years ago at SPHD. I still think the orange S2 is one of the best looking S2's ever. So much so that I go a spare set of body work to try to do some of he same things. I'd love to talk to you sometime about how you did the one piece job. I figure I could do it but I'd much rather learn from the master. Since I last saw you, I've acquired a S2 to go along with my M2. Man, I love those S2's. Brad |

SZero, the bike looks very happy :-). the design is nice! i dont know if im qualified enough to designate it as smart this is definitely the sexiest string of posts on the board, thank you erik buell. (i just realized this post has no pictures of an S2, and I apologize. just catching my error, that's all) (Message edited by ztferrari on April 29, 2005) |

"this is definitely the sexiest string of posts on the board" I was just thinking the same thing. I never really looked hard at S2's before - they're beautiful. |

Yep, I remember those two S2's at the Homecoming, and Erik looking like he liked the results very much. The only pic I have locally of mine, maybe somebody can photoshop me out of it, or at least knock off about 40 pounds of me, or maybe just a shave).
