Hello to all the case-hardened members to this board; I am new to badweather bikers and need some info on a project I am working on. I have purchased a used 2000 blast and am going to put the drivetrain into a Harley hardtail frame to make a Blast custom bobber. My question is this: I have to know the source of each oil line, which one(s) flow to the oil tank (mine were cut) and which one is the return. I plan to route these to a new oil tank but need to test this engine out prior to removing the motor and transplanting it. Any help on this would be great, as the dealer is quite nice, but somewhat clueless in light of my project. Thanks |

Ruff -- don't have the manual in front of me, so I won't hazrd a guess -- if you're gonna play with the engine at all, buy the manual -- also, posting on the thumper page will likely net you a faster, more accurate response |

4 lines The line on the top of the engine case near the starter is a transmission vent hose, just let it vent to the air. The line connected to the cam cover is the engine vent. The line connected to the top of the oil pump is the oil return to the tank. The line connected to the bottom of the oil pump is engine oil feed from the oil tank. James |

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the great help on this, I will post more info on this project here and there as things come together. Just a few hints and what is happening: Paughco hardtail framed ordered, 35 degree rake, will attempt to integrate (crosses fingers) buell monoshock by grafting/welding components. Paughco small mustang gas tank being prepped. am Fabricating a custom oil tank from copper, this should be interesting..lol More to follow, Ruff |
