Ok I will try to ask this as politically correct as possible. I have an XB12R and seem to have a little problem with uhh, the family jewels, so to speak when riding. I dont know if its the seat or the air box cover that is causing it but when I ride lets just say they are getting crunched more often than I would like. Anyone else have this problem and if so have you found anything to fix it. I dont really want to resort to riding around with a "cup" but I guess if thats what it takes to fix it I will have to do that. If it makes a difference I am 5'6". I am hoping that I am not the only one with this problem and I am just the only one with the "balls", so to speak, to ask for help. Sorry if this post has offended anyone but I just cant take the pain anymore. Thanks in advance. John |

LOL, instead of tucking them under your cheeks, try pulling your junk up and in front of you!!!! "BIG BALLZ John" |

I just started ridding when I bought my XB9s in January so take this for what you will. I had the same thing happen to me a few times, a friend suggest sqeaseing the tank more with your legs. It worked. Now the only time I have problems is when I do wheelies and dont hold tight enough with my legs. Hope it helps Aaron (Message edited by dilysi73 on April 28, 2005) |

A corbin maybe. The factory seat does allow some sliding. The corbin should hold you in a bit more. |

Different seats have different forward slope, and less slope may alleviate your problem. See if you can try out some of the different seats available - maybe if your dealer stocks the Buell seats. Otherwise you can peel the stock seat cover off and reshape your stock seat slightly. Please keep us posted if you come up with a solution. Henrik (dealer stocking Buell parts ... hi-he, hah-ha-ha-ha-ha, he-he-he, AHHH-HA-HA-HA-HAAAAA, sometimes I just kill myself ... ) |

Well, I tried the aftermarket Buell seat and it made me sit too high off the bike ( I was on my tippie toes then and wasnt comfortable with that) so I took it off and sold it. I am looking for the low model forks and rear shock so I can lower the bike so I can flatfoot. Once I get that taken care of I am going to buy another Buell seat and that should put me back to my original seat height but I would then have the extra cushion I am hoping will take care of my problem. I was just looking for something to take of the problem NOW rather than continuing to "tuck them under my cheeks" as hanses put it ( John |

LOL! I suggest that you cut out a hole into the front part of your seat. Perhaps Corbin could come up with a special Ball Room version. You would just have to take care to not get them sucked up into the air intake or roasted on the rear cylinder head. Or worse...cought in the rear spring while going through a hard dip. OUCH!

I was going to make the same post yesterday! My jewels have been tender as well for the last couple of days. I'm glad someone else is experiencing this. I thought it was just me or something. I had the same problem with a bicycle that I was riding for a while. I bought some bicycling shorts with ample padding and the problem was resolved. |

Squeeze your legs tighter on the frame and support yourself more with your feet and legs when throttling hard or doing anything that will make you shift on the bike. I found this to be a problem on other bikes with a standard and sport riding positions. I thought about getting some biker shorts with padding for long rides on my motorcycle. |

The only thing I can think of is some sort of pad on the back vertical part of the airbox cover (aka "the psuedo tank" so that you are moved back away from the wall of death enough to keep this problem from happening... |

It's not the bike or the seat. It's all about ones physical size, don't believe me? Check out the thread "Any tall/Large owners". I never heard someone who could flat foot the bikes mention crushed jewels. On the other hand, so to speak............................................ |

From a medical standpoint, if you're wearing boxers when you ride, that may be it. Try tighy whities or even a supporter... Boxers just don't give enough support with all that vibration and moving around... |

Wearing a cup helps alot, like the kind a catcher wears in baseball. Solved my problem |

Only ride when its really cold out...you won't have anything to worry about! Or, if its really hot, keep a good supply of ice cubes in a small cooler in your tankbag... |

The only problem I had in the first few months was from the heat coming back from the rear head, that fixed itself after the breakin /oil change. If that heat had gone on ,I would have been concerned about sterility ..LOL I find the whole seat uncomfortable after 100 miles , but I do ride a Low with the shorter travel. |

Ok I am going to give the biker short thing a try. Yes I am wearing boxers. I hate the "nut hugger" (is that politically correct) look of whitey tighties. I will report back with my findings after my ride to work tomorrow. Thanks for all the suggestions. By the way I didnt think this post was going to get this much attention but I guess some found it rather amusing. I sure did laugh at a few of the posts. John |

you have to get your balls toughened up try this ball strengthening program 3 times a week you will need a partner for this exercise stand with your legs shoulder width apart and have your partner stand directly across from you tell your partner to kick you in the balls for 3 sets of 10, gradually increasing the pressure on each kick a few short weeks of this and you can handle anything |

Well boys I have to words, 'boxer briefs' over the tighty-whities. Yes women riders don't have that problem we just bring a new meaning to the phrase 'tank slappers' |

Great post Blastgirl. I got smoked by a teenage girl in a YSR race once, she had a pink bike with daisies painted all over it. Chicks can ride. |

I generally just let my wife keep em in her her purse when I ride. She doesn't let me take them on the overnight trips anyways. |
