I bought the Buell (by KBC) full face helmet (part no. 99426-04BX). So far, I like it a lot, but cant figure out the correct KBC equivalent so I can order a second face shield. Anyone have any insight on this ? Thanks. |

It's KBC's VR-1 . I have the Orange and black version of the same helmet. Also from their web site "7. Can a shield for a TK-8 fit vr-1 or Wolf helmet? A: Yes. They all use the same side ratchets. " It also looks like the VR-1 has been discontinued from the KBC line. |

The replacement is the VR-2 and is about 1/2 the weight (even though the VR-1 is a light helmet). I have a VR-1 and like it quite a lot. I'll be getting a VR-2 as soon as my OT money comes in for this week . |

Does KBC have a website?? I need a couple replacements parts for one of the vents and part of the liner. Anyone know of a way to contact KBC? Dave, can you get items other than visors and basic accessories? (Message edited by devdawg on April 27, 2005) |

Dave, I can't tell which model it is...looks like something between a TK-8 & TK-9, doubt it matters which. The part I need is the part of the liner that runs along the bottom of the helmet, around the nape of your neck. Can you get that piece without having to buy the whole liner kit? |

I'll be surprised if KBC sells that part separately.... I have every faith in Dave...but cycle parts are one thing...obscure helmet parts by a foreign manufacture may be another. |

http://www.kbc-helmet.com/ You can call KBC for parts if Dave can't get them. I have a Redline model that has a standing problem with the visor ratchet mechanism. They provided a free replacement. This helmet is fine around town, and it fits me very well, but my Arai [Astral] helmet's aerodynamics are much, much better at speed. Charlie |
