I thinking, maybe riding to Rome on Sunday. I went to College there at Berry. It is the largest campus in the world according to land mass (32,000 acres) It is the entire NW corner of the state. Its no mountain run but Rome is a neat town and maybe something different. Berry Campus is beautiful this time a year. I'll head up Hwy 20 near Lake Allatoona on to Rome using Hwy 411. Anyone interested? (Message edited by black_sunshine on April 22, 2005) |

Way down south I know a girl who is blind. She walks alone along a lonely highway each day. She dreams that one day a man will pull up in a car. He’ll open up the door, she’ll climb in and he will say: “Hey babe, whatcha know? Hope you’re ready to go... ’cause today’s a perfect day to chase tornados.” Yeah when the wild wind whips around your head you know, that you have found a perfect day to chase tornados. And what about that preacher man on the run from the law? He killed a girl in Memphis and ran ’till the dogs tracked him down. They shot him by the river and as he lay dying in the mud, well someone asked him, hey Preacher, where’s your soul going now? And Preacher said, “Well, I do not know, but wherever it is I’ll gladly go... cause today’s a perfect day to chase tornados.” I was woke up just before dawn by an old man crying in the rain. He was drunk and he was lonely and as he passed by he sang a hymn. And as I lay there listening, well I almost joined him in that song... but instead I just held my peace, and waited ’till that old man moved along. Then later on that day about a quarter mile out of town, I found his body hanging in a grove of pines, swaying in the wind. And as he swang that rope sang another hymn to Jesus, and this time though I don’t know why, I somehow felt inclined to sing along. I guess it’s cause, still waters run, run deep in me ’cause I got this crazy way... crazy way I’m swimming in still waters. Yes and there are projects for the dead and there are projects for the living... thought I must confess sometimes I get confused by that distinction... and I just throw myself into the arms of that which would betray me. I guess to see how far Providence will stoop down just to save me. Today’s a perfect day to chase tornados. (Message edited by torqer on April 22, 2005) |

© 1995 Jim White Mama’s hiding in the cellar. Sister’s crying in the yard. Someone’s in the tool shed. I can hear ’em drinking. Papa’s up on the hill. He’s walking right into the sun, and far as I’m concerned, he can keep right on walking... ’Cause man I wish it would thunder man I wish it would rain and man I wish it would lightning and man I wish it would storm enough... to wash away a world. I caught a little hummingbird, then I let him go. He could be in China now, for all that I know. And do you know how to whisper... and do you know how to lie? Then you can kiss me now, if you wanna. I guess I don’t mind. But man I wish it would thunder man I wish it would rain and man I wish it would lightning and man I wish it would storm enough... to wash away a world. In the dark of the night, when my family is sleeping, God talks to me... he jumps right in my body. He says, “You are not my friend... and you are not my son. You’re just a little space I’m using... to hide some of my silence.” Then man I wish it would thunder Then man I wish it would rain Then man I wish it would lightning Then man I wish it would storm Then man I wish a dam would break and a flood would cleanse my soul... wash away this bad old world so a new one could be born. Yes man I wish it would thunder man... I wish it would storm. I've been listening to this stuff lately. Sorry if it has had an effect on the local forecast. |

Thanks for the warm welcome gang. It was great meeting you all and for a party trick next time, you can make me try and remember everyone's name AND handle. I'm sorry the weather's going to suck for y'all this weekend, but since I have to work all weekend, it's just as well. Now, who wants to go riding Monday afternoon after I wake up? Anyone interested in a bike night Tuesday at the Rock Star Saloon in Alpharta? Nothin but lawyers on fat boys. Thought they could use a little 3% colour. Starts at 7:00 pm. I'm here all night all weekend, rdfrew@rocketmail.com if you're really bored. |

I just finished up a Primus binge... Torqer- I have some Killer Live concerts of Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains, Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade and Oysterhead if you're interested. Oysterhead- Trey Anastatio- Lead singer of Phish Les Claypool Stewart Copeland- Drummer from the Police Les Claypool is the $hit, next to Vic Wooten. Before I got my bike all my extra money was spent traveling seeing live music. Claypool was one of my favorites to see He is so animated and puts on one hell of a show. He has this 'contraption' he made that is like a stand-up bass with a whammy bar on top of it- CRAZY $hit. In fact didn't I give you a show like a year ago or so?? Well even so if you'd like some more just let me know. I have A LOT of Live Band endorsed recordings Ween, Allman Bros, Widespread Panic, Pink Floyd just to mention a few. (they aren't bootlegs cuz the bands actually have or had taping policies at the time they were recorded. The bands allow the CD's to be distributed as long as you don't sell them) |

Shall I buy A new guitar? shall I drive A more powerful car? shall I work straight through the night? shall i get into fights, leave the lights on, drop bombs? do tours to the east, contract diseases, bury bones, break up homes, send flowers by phone, take to drink, go to shrinks, eat red meat, rarely sleep, keep people as pets, train dogs race rats, fill the attics with cash, bury treasure, store at leisure, but never relax at all....... WITH OUR BACKS TO THE WAll. |
