They (Buell) are supposed to be announcing two "new" bikes (models) at the July dealer meeting..... could be what you are looking for?.... might just be a city cross without mudguards?...

Dustyjacket, to chime in a little bit. The Lightning models sit you more upright and in my opinion, for short rides, they are more comfortable because of the bars and the pegs. But the problem with sitting more upright, and having minimul fairing on the bike, is the wind just beats the crap out of you on long runs. I rode my lightning with the stock bars down to Eureka Springs via some Kansas roads 69Hwy, so we rode for about 6 hours, and my neck was actually sore from fighting the wind. So I prefer to be leaning more forward, and the fairing on the firebolts is more windprotection as well. But that's just my personal preference. If I had to do it over again, I'd get the firebolt. |

Hey, the Buell Demo people are going to talk at the meeting tonight, kind of explain how everything works on Saturday. By the way, they supply bikes for the lead and tail people on the demo rides, you don't have to ride your own bike. Thanks Chris |

Hey SweetP If you want the fairing purchase the firebolt fairing to put on your XB. I've actually tossed around the idea myself. Then you have the best of both worlds. Dustyjacket if you are looking for a unbelievably comfortable buell the tube frames are the only choices you have at the moment. Hopefully in July this will change. |

SweetP Were you riding your bike around I35 and Johnson Drive on Wednesday? I saw a sunfire yellow buell parked a a store or something. |

Hey Sam Pimp video clip on Jeff's site, I knew you'd be riding that unicycle further and further everyday. That is if your legs can handle the dismount. |

Hanses25, no bro, that wasn't me. I've got a busted wheel. Notice the damn crutches in the background of my picks leaning up against the work bench, unfortunately those belong to me. I'm down till atleast May 10th, then perhaps I'll be seen on the sunfire yellow lovely. I talked to Mike in the performance shop about putting the R front end on my S, and he said I'd have to get new triple trees, new forks, and the fairing, basically a total new front end. So I just bought those crossroads handlebars, that's leanin forward enough for my blood and wallet. Mike said he'd buy my front end though if I did it cuz he was wanting to build a buell drag bike. |

Ah I see, as for the new front end for the R conversion hmmmmmmmmm, I'll have to eye up Tim's R and see if he is correct. Anyway the sunfire yellow bikes really stand out I love mine as well. Take care bro. JJ |

Sweep, a lot of people here on the bad web have done it, all that is needed it the fairing mount brace, fairing, lights, you can use your triple trees if you find a new location for your key, that is the only reason you would need the firebolt triple trees, look in the knowledge vault you may find some things are possible that the Harley service guys don't know anything about. |

Just look at my profile picture if you want a visual of what it would look like, I started with the R, but it is possible to convert the S without doing all the mods Mike told you to do. |

I like that color Tim. That was the main reason why I didn't buy a R back in '03 was the color. Who ever told Mr. Buell to attempt HD orange rims on a red bike was a moron. I bought the '03 S because I didn't want a blue bike, and I definitely didn't want a red bike with orange rims. Guess I could've replaced the rims, but I'm happy with my S. I think it would be a pain in the butt to change it over to an R, and with those new crossroad bars I put on, I'm happier with the appearance and ride now, and my wallet has taken enough punishment . Thanks though, I really like your bike, looks good. |

OK, somewhat different than the tubers I found online last night....... We'll see in June if Buell will be All-Sport, All-the-Time, or not. It would be nice if they did a "super" Blast - V-twin, larger frame, seat, fuel tank. A "standard" tourer...... (Message edited by dustyjacket on April 22, 2005) |

Just a thought guys, but if you have some time this afternoon, it might be a good idea to email your non-Buell riding buddies about the demo rides. I emailed the HoAME Club (Heart of America Motorcycle Enthusiasts Over 160 members strong)to remind them that the event was going on. I want to see Gail's parking lot full of sportbikes. Does anyone belong to the KC Plaza Sportbike Club that they could post an announcement over there? Any other clubs or folks we can notify? |

Wed morning at 07:00am I was riding to work southbound on I435 headed to Bannister Home Depot and hit a piece of debris on the road right after the construction zone, knocked my race muffler I got from Shazam off the bike breaking the mount bracket and bending the bolts and ruined the Pirelli Diablo rear tire I just put on a few days ago (only about 200 miles on that tire). I was damn lucky I did not get hurt, but now have alot of work to do to get my X1W back in safe running condition. I have the bike stored at my friend Tiger's shop until the new tire comes in and I get time to do some fabricating on a new exhaust system. LET'S ALL BE CAREFUL OUT THERE! |

Rusty - sorry to hear that. What kind of debris was that, and I should be on the lookout for? |

Tripper Hello!! Hey the Demo days were a big hit for Gail's 10 mile loop... There was a young couple that rode R6/TL1000 that rode almost every Buell they did 8 rides. And they are going to most likely new owners soon!! They had 43 sign up... I believe and 68 rides were given. There were lots of smile and positive responses from almost every rider. DAS had a camera... not sure if anyone else took pictures or not.

A couple of others are definite buyers as well. I took a couple of photos, but the Buell riders didn't stop upon exiting, so I probably got the backs of their helmets. Let me see what I can do....... BTW - I had a great time chatting up the wifes (and son) of BRAG members, and talking with folks as they signed up. (Next year, I'll be allowed to ride. Maybe even when they come back in 3-4 months.) If you weren't there, be sure t ask someone who was about (1) Santa Clause and (2) The Micro-Mini skirt........ (Message edited by dustyjacket on April 23, 2005) |
