If I were to listen to anything besides the gnarly V-Twin when I'm riding, my preference would be more aggressive music like Korn, Marilyn Manson and White/Rob Zombie. In fact, my S2 is known to me as Black Sunshine after the White Zombie tune. I always seem to drive faster in a car when listening to Zombie... Southern Marine, The 'Fill Me Up Buttercup' remark comes from a test trip for the X1W blue header from East Troy to Deal's Gap. I think as we were doing final preparations on the 2 X1's (tail bags, back packs, etc.) we heard Fill Me Up Buttercup on the radio. That song stuck in our heads for an eternity...and it STILL comes back to haunt me! 1313 |

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but Sirius and XMradio are asking for monthly subscription fees so I've not heard a ting man! Rocket |

They are changing the way Americans are listening to radio over here Rocket, right now our censorship issues are huge, it is a big issue with both major political parties, and since satellite radio is a paid service, they cannot legally censor it. (yet?) A lot of regular radio stations are losing listeners to Satellite. I love it. |

Gnoma'am and I rented a HD rolling couch (Electra Glide Classic) on a recent trip to Vegas, and we brought 3 CD's with us to feed into the player-Steppenwolfs greatest hits, Montgomery Gentry You do your thing, and Big & Rick. Of the 3, the Big & Rich was the best riding music. Riding towards the Mountain Springs Saloon listening to "Save a Horse, ride a cowboy" was almost profound. |

I'm a big fan of non-censored radio. Sirius Octane constantly makes off color jokes and I think it's great. Like Brittany is a slut etc etc... |

Rocket, I think Sirius has a "free trial" period for internet users--look on their main page for the button marked "free online trial." Didja try the Cajun channels yet? rt |

I don't know.. I kind of like Buzzsaw, and Blues and Jazz Cafe, The Vault.. It's another nice thing about Sirius that I've liked from day one. Whatever I'm in the mood for.. They've got.. In spades.. Hell, even the Raw Dog comedy channel is great.. Just have to be careful sometimes, Raw Dog is just that, especially when some of the ladies are on a rant about.. uh.. take your pick, ya know.. Phew.. Heck, I'm listening to it right now, at work.. Got to love the streaming version for computers so you don't have to have a window or some such where you work to listen.. hehehehe... |

spent some time in a store in near Mad-town (reading a book and watching my wife do what she does best ;-} ) -- was in the storefor an hour, and I flat out LOVED the station -- aksed the guy behind the counter which station it was (figuring some indie-college gig, given the location), but was told it was Sat . . . . . . even the might WXRT has slid downhill here in the City of Big Shoulders -- the Rock of Chicago start out in the early 70s playing any freakin thing they wanted -- think Debussy followed by Zappa followed by Buff Springfield followed by Mozart, Glass, Brian Eno, Joni Mitchell, MC5, you get the picture Broadcast Radio (and TV) have been deregulated in the states so that the same corp can virtually control the airwaves in a given market -- combine the shrinking choices (which seem to be limited to "Classic Rock" which seems to equal all AC/DC all the time, Hip Hop, or Right Wing talk radio) and the censorship pressure broadcasters are feeling from the feds as a result of a small but noisy minority (helped by the superbowl of a while back), and the result is even a parsimonious blockhead like me is tryin to figure out how long I'd stay cranky if I subscribed to Sat Radio . . . . bout the onliest thing holding me back is a suspiscion that it'll go like cable TV -- from decent service and reasonable cost to poor service and escalting costs every calendar quarter ah well, I'm sure I'll cave, but it's sad when Mr Stern has to go off the air and on a sat to do his thing (personally, I think his act has no appeal, but first amendment and all -- ain't like he's hollering "fire" in a crowded room -- seems talking like a junior high schooler on meth is illeagal) sorry for the screed -- seems our gubmint is hell bent for election to make new markets for obscure products and services while they protect us . . . .. I'll climb down off my soap box now -- I'm getting a touch of vertigo ;-} |

rt, I saw the trial period but haven't had the three days of choice aligned with the planets or my daily steroids!!! Couldn't get anything from the cajun links though I'd love to plug in there. I'm a virgin user of Apple and I'm just stoked at how sweet this little G3 is. As I talk to you at nearly 4 30am Saturday morning I'm playing CD's and importing them at the same time. Right now it's Coldplay's Parachutes pumping through my trusty old Sennheisser head phones as my i-Tunes library fills up. Rocket |
