I assume nothing fell off, so does anyone know why there is a threaded hole on the right-front of the lower triple-tree clamp ? (in my case, it is an XB9SX). In the left in the same location is a screwed in brake hose guide bracket. The hole already collected bug guts, so yesterday, I put a lightly-loctited SS screw in it. I was just curious why it was there. |

On my XB12R the hole and brake line bracket are on the right side, no hole on the left. Maybe they modified the brake line routing for the 9SX, and hence the additional hole. |

I meant the bracket is attached on the "left" as you look at the bike from the front. The empty hole is on the right as you look at the bike from the front. |

My XB9SX has one also. Future plans for a right side rim mounted brake maybe? |

My guess is that they just decided to machine the symmetrical because it's most likely just as easy? |

I don't know yet, but the obsessive-compulsive in me likes it better with a screw in the hole. It is good to know that I did not lose something that was supposed to be in there.} |

Perhaps that hole was used to lighten and balance the front end? By putting a screw in it you may find the bike wanting to lean to the left! So why was it tapped? Hmmm... My guess would be that the .207 hole they drilled wasn't quite enough to balance everything so they tapped it to dial in the perfect weight. Wow! The details they put into these bikes is amazing, isn't it? |

My God, you were right. I went to ride to work today, and could not get out of the driveway......the bike just kept going in circles to the left !! |

Hey, for us military guys, I put my post decal on an aluminum plate and then used a 20- 1/4" to secure it instead of having to put the sticker on the fork or the flyscreen. Kicker is, now I can take it off when I want and it doesn't leave a mess. |
