Okay i think i may have found the transmission drain plug, it is located just forward of the oil drain plug. It's located under the trans. I can not locate the refill plug. How do I refill the trans on my 2003 XB9R? |

Refill through the clutch inspection cover, which is the bigger of the two on the trans (round on top with funny bell shape on bottom). |

Is it on the kick stand side? |

Yes it is on the kickstand side. the oil drain plug is on the bottom of the swingarm, and if you look just ahead of that on the bottom of the transmission, you will see the drain plug for the tranny. when you refill, you are going to actually refill it from the side of the transmission. If you use Mobil 1 75w-90, it comes in a quart container with a pointed spout that makes it easy to squeeze in. Otherwise, you have to position a funnel in there. Marc |

yep it's on that side with the stick thingy. Remember you only need one quart of oil in the trans. If you think more is better, finding neutral w/engine running may be a lost cause. |

Mine took exactly one quart, and it put it right at the bottom of the clutch plate just like it said in the manual. Finding neutral with the engine running is no problem at all. Too much definitely makes a difference. |

"OWNERS MANUAL??????" Nope bike came without one. You have a spare or know anywhere online that sells them? Web Url for sites selling the parts and factory service manual? I'll search Badweb for threads on this subject when I have time later tonight. I just got the bike and have no time lately for things I should get to make my life easier in dealing with it. You guys have a list of things I may need to get for servicing, tools, manuals, etc. thx |

The full service manual is for sale on EBAY for like $10. The owners manual is at any dealers for about the same price. You need one or both. |
