Thanks to the guys at American Sportbike for getting my new undertail to me on the fly! I got my stuff about a week after I ordered it and I'm all the way in Chicago. Anyway I bought the entire undertail in red with the LEDs. I'll be putting it on tonight when I get home from work. For now here is the pic off American Sportbike. My internet is down at home currently, but when I get it going I'll post some pics of my bike with the new tail. The guy with the unlocked wireless connection in my apartment building finally caught on, so now I don't get free internet anymore. The nerve of some people. J/K I didn't even think about it, but do Badwebbers get a discount with American Sportbike?  | ||

Here is a picture from my phone. I'll post a better one later. I must admit that this was a huge pain in the •••. All of the connections are wrong and it is not easy to get the holes lined up for the license plate bracket. Don't forget to buy a new license plate bracket, or be prepared to cut of the sides that hold the blinkers on. This kit looks awesome, but the packaging is terrible! I mean seriously if you make a product that only fits one bike why would you not make it plug and play? This weekend I'll be taking it apart again so that I can give a couple wires more slack and redo my connectors. Right now it is together, but I just did what I could with what I had. By the way this is not a bust on American Sportbike. I called them, and the guy I talked to was very helpful. This is a bust on the company that makes the part.  | ||

your right it is a great looking kit. i am definetly considering doing the same thing to my 9r. the one question i have is how long until the painted plastic under the pillion is chipped to hell? living in arizona there is a ton of sand and small rocks on the street. any chipping problems? | ||

I just put it on last night, so I have no idea about chipping yet. Anyone have a tip for front turn signals that will go well with my new undertail? I would like something small and flushmounted, but I'm having trouble finding anything. | ||

Tail looks nice. As for chipping, I would suggest picking up the American Sport Bike Extended Hugger as well. Price isn't too bad. I have it but have not installed it yet. As for the front turn signals, I couldn't find anything flush mounted that worked really well. The problem is that the turn signals also hold the fairing on. When I bought my bike used, it had some generic flush blinkers on the front that were kind of squished against the area where the stock blinker was. The fairing was then held on their by a large tapered metal screw. I replaced the fairing and went with a smaller set of arrow shaped lockhart philips turn signals. They look much better. I think they would work well in your application. | ||

Thanks for the advice PC. I'll go check in with a local bike shop to see what they have for LP signals. | ||

Olinxb12r, be careful, there are a couple of different size nuts/threads and the packaging doesn't say anything about the size. Take the nut from your old turn signals with and spin it on the shaft of the new ones at the store. The product is easily removed from the package. I don't have the part number anymore on the ones that I bought. |
