So, What Does Your Roof Look Like? Ever wonder what your neighborhood looks like from a hundred miles in the sky through a spy satellite camera? Go to: http://maps.google.com Click on "Satellite" in the upper right corner of the page Enter your address in the search box on the top of the page and hit return. By holding down your mouse button and moving the mouse, you can pan around to other parts of town. As far as I can tell, this is not actually functional but it's a great way to blow off 20 minutes of your day. | ||

Very neat... I've been blowing off 20 minute sections of my day all day trying to figure out the most curvacious way to get from Prescott AZ to Bandon OR... I've decided to fly. One thing to note... Just north of Prescott on "Williamson Valley Rd" it turns to dirt. It doesn't reflect this on the map... | ||

Another good way to use Google Maps, is to navigate to your states Sex Offender site and enter your ZIP code to see all the weirdo's that live in your immediate area. Then use Google Maps address fields to see how close they really are. There were only 9 in my area. If you say only 9, that is quite low. Everyone I know has dozens more. Matter of fact, one of my buds ZIP area had 245 in his area. Anywho ... you can print out some really nice Google Maps showing where these flakes live and pass them out to the parents at a grade school near you or a PTA meeting. Tell you what, not ONE parent knew of the site and/or of the sex offenders in our area. Everyone was shocked. -SD: | ||

you know you can get labled a sex offender just for taking a •••• outside if you get caught. indecent exposure, and your automaticaly on the list not all sex offenders are child molesters, but that dont mean there not f'ed up in the head  (Message edited by TwoWheelDream on April 13, 2005) | ||

Charles, Agreed BUT if you go to the site I posted, at least the Arizona one, it very clearly describes what each individual listed sex offender did. The laws are also outlined there. If an individual was arrested and convicted for exposing themselves, then they are listed as such. Here's one example that was listed in my area;  -SD: | ||

Man, if a hacker had a vendetta against somebody, just think of the damage he could do to that person's name by adding them to such a registry. It wouldn't be too hard. Heck, you could even take the picture posted and Photoshop someone else in there... I'm all for freedom of information, as long as said information can be 100% verified as true. On the internet, nothing can be 100% verified as true... |
