I've got a gig coming up that's sure to be an adventure. I was hired to be a motorcycle marshall for this years Tour De Georgia International six day bicycle stage race. Pays $100 per day, free food and lodging with the race, travel money, uniforms; and, we are getting the Aprila/Moto Guzzi demo fleet to ride. All roads will be swept and closed to all traffic except the race. I'm riding the Buell to Alpharetta this Sunday and meeting the other motors. I've road raced bicycles for years and have done some moto work in the past in races. I'll probably be carrying a cameraman, official, or VIP, or maybe riding solo. Either way it's sure to be interesting. Lot's of Euro teams and Lance's team as well as some other North American teams will be there. It will be on OLN on April 30 I think. I'm getting excited now! |

That sounds like a LOT of fun. I just pulled the race maps off line and now we know what roads to avoid this weekend when riding in the hills- Thanks |

How'd you get selected for that? I helped at a biathlon out in California once with my motorcycle checking for drafting riders and such. Sounds like you're going to have a great time. I need to tunnel out of here someday.

The race will be in the hills next weekend. Have fun. I already posted on the local Sportbike forums about it and everyone has been forewarned. Thanks SO much for the heads-up. I'm glad I was planning to ride North of Chattanooga this weekend anyways. Have fun and be safe!!! |

I've done that at the Tour LeFleur, our local race. It's a blast, directing oncoming traffic to the side of the road from the oncoming lane, blasting past cops, feeling like a hero when the guys on the bikes clap for us. They gave me a tee shirt but I would have gladly paid for the experience. Good Luck! Bob |
