well here the story goes... i bought a 03 XB 9R from a co worker.. he put on the race ecm, jardine exhaust, k&n filter. he had thicker plug wires but he took them off before he sold them to me. well i never road a buell before i bought this one. i was noticing a little sluggishness at about 2000 to 2500. i asked him about it and he said when he had the race ecm put on he noticed it was more sluggish than stock. well a little while down the road my low beam went out. replaced it. still out. so da.. check fuse. fuse is fine. ok wiring. wiggled it then i t worked. so i thought was the connection to the light. so riding along my friend told me i had a light out. leaded over tapped the wires and my bike shut off. some how i blew an ignition fuse.?? went through the wires and found where the low beam light goes into the bike it was bent and frayed.. to i fixed it. after that the bike was running really strong!!! the bike became alot louder too. well maybe my ignorance but i liked it so i left it alone. about a month later the bike became really loud gradually over the time and it started to rattle. then it started to back fire.the muffler apart and NO packing at all. well replaced the plugs and started the bike no muffler on. did that a few times and now it wont start. any ideas ... i think it is the TPS or a/f ratio? dealer wants $150 just to look at it and closest one it 2 hours away. PLEASE HELP

Sounds like the plugs are fouled...just my guess..
no need to crank them up just to turn them off again, especially with the header only, without the can it'll be really rich..

if you stopped and started the bike a few times, you may have fouled the plugs... check'em out again.
Others have said it doesnt like multi cold starts.
