Last sunday my brother lost control of his 954. He went in the ditch and hit a driveway, launched over 122' and landed in a fence, he is busted up pretty bad but he had his helmet on. only wheels he will see for a while is on his chair. God smiled on us that day, no permanent damage (leg and shoulder). Hopefully I can keep him riding. |

wow, hope he gets well soon. I myself had a adventure in flying thru the air last night. I was fighting a fire, had the newbie on the knozzle. He starting falling off the ladder, i leaped, held him a split second, enough for him to catch himself. I went sailing past him and down 12 feet. Lucky it was dirt i landed on. As I was falling i also spun on my side so that the air pack would take most of the blow. I hit with a big thud.... (Message edited by firewhirl on April 13, 2005) |

Like I've said to others:"Welcome to the Purple Heart Club." Glad he's ok, and I hope he'll want to ride again. Maybe on a better bike, hint, hint...

Sorry to hear about your bother. I too was in a bike accident back in 1997. I was riding my Ducati and encountered a reduced radius curve I wasn't prepared for. Seems 50 is to fast to make the turn! The road went left and I ran straight. When I hit the grass at the angle I was i got thrown about 35 feet. I landed on my head and back. I was lucky I didn't break my neck. Luckly the bike landed on me also! I never knew it was so heavy. A good helmet and riding gear saved my life. Remember, Don't ride with folks that are better riders than you. Slow down and maintain your pace. I just ended up with a concussion, separate shoulder, bruised ribs, sore kneck and body. To know the pain, just jump out of your car while going 50mph! It took me a while to ride again. I just bought me an old Kawasaki GPZ 750 to get my nerve up to ride. My thought later became, If it was to have happened to me in a car would I drive again. Joe |

Citified, best of luck to your bro', any crash you come away from with no permanent damage is a good one! JLewis, There's nothing wrong with riding with folks who are better than you, how you gonna learn else? the thing is not to try & beat riders who are better than you. Ride at the pace you feel comfortable with, also if you know a good rider ask him to follow you at your pace & give you some pointers afterwards. If he will, that's great he'll get a buzz out of helping & you'll learn something. If not, **** him you don't need riding partners like that. |
