I think it's time for me to get a new battery. The bike is getting harder to start. I push the start button and everything dims...slugs to turn over and if I give it just a little gas is fires up. So instead of playing around with a battery tender. (I have no place to plug it in near the bike and don't want to install a battery before going to work.) I'm just going to buy a new battery. I really don't want to go to the dealership, cause I know they are going to charge a arm and leg. We do have a NAPA and a Auto Zone here. Does anyone know a replacement model motorcycle battery that may be sold at NAPA or Auto Zone? If so what is the model number? Thanks in Advance... |

Hmmm called the dealer and the battery is 74.98, not too bad. I would like to see if I can beat that price though. (Message edited by tatsu on April 05, 2005) |

Check your local jap bike shops. Yuasa makes a good replacement at a reasonable price. I haven't seen a sealed cell maintenance free motorcycle battery at Autozone. Not sure that I'd buy one if Autozone sold them. |

My dealer (Glendale Harley) sold me an H-D AGM battery for $59.39 (BRAG discount). Normal price is $65.99. Part number 65948-00. I had looked for the Yuasa battery, but you MUST use a factory activated version (good luck finding one in stock anywhere), and they were more expensive than the H-D dealer (about $80). |

Sam's Club can order one from Exide for about $45 The can look the exact number up for you or call Exide but it is a 14BS sealed battery, and make sure if they call for the itm number that it is in fact for a SEALED battery. You might also try Glenn's Cycle Supply 861 Mapunapuna St 808-732-5547 or try Quick Fix cycles, he might be able to order you a battery. Hate to say it, but you may need to have South Seas check your stator... |

Maybe match it up with one from Wal-Mart. If you do make certain it's a maintence free one though. You do not want one with acid in there. |

WheelAndRudder.com is a new Odyssey dealer. I think these are drycell batteries. |
