I'm using the latest version 2.71o (for PC) and tried resetting the AFR, but I got "FAIL" instead of "PASSED". I done the same before with the previous versions without any problem. Anyone else try? What does it mean? Bad O2 sensor? |

DC, Sorry I can't help you with your post. I'm curious how this turns out because I'm considering buying one in a little while. Overall, how well would you say this little gizmo works? (other than the difficulty you're encountering now) |

Lyle, 2.71-O seems to have fixed the TPS reset bug but added an AFV reset bug. I'm working with them now to get it fixed, stay tuned. It is NOT your bike. Al |

I didn't know there was a TPS reset bug. |

There wasn't with the PDA version. But the TPS reset on the PC version prior to 2.71-O didn't work. It said it PASSED, but in fact, it was talking to the injector, not the TPS. That is now fixed in 2.71-O, but it appears that the AFV reset is now broken. Stay tuned.... Al |

I KNOW it worked because the difference was so friggin' huge that it was unmistakable. Or, how long has 2.71-o been released? Maybe that's what I used then ... |

Lyle, I had the old version and Al let me know that it was not resetting the TPS. It did seem to reset the AFV. Now, after downloading the latest version, the TPS is most definitely being reset but I too am having the "FAILED" message appear when I try to reset the AFV. Nice to know that it is not my bike. Why does anyone want to reset the AFV anyway? Keith |

Why does anyone want to reset the AFV anyway? Not sure, but maybe to speed up or force relearning the value after a mod? I did it once just for the fun of it. Technoresearch has let me know that my new dongle is on the way and it will work with both my handheld and for the pc (like Al already said). Now that would be cool ... |

DC, AFR = Adaptive Fuel Ralue. AFV = Adaptive Fuel Value. Please add to your big hairy knowledge (BHK). |

Blake, TechnoResearch diagnostic tool has an "AFR" selection (read in mV). I assumed this showed the air/fuel ratio. So I though AFR = air fuel ratio. Anyone know what AFR stands for? |

Air Fuel Ratio - LOL Sorry, I haven't used the software for a long time, I really thought it said AFV in previous versions (Adaptive Fuel Value). |

Version 2.71o has an "AFR" meter. |

The A/F ratio would be on the order of 14:1. The AFV would be somewhere around 100 plus or minus 20 points. I have no idea what "AFR" is supposed to indicate. If it is simply indicating O2 sensor output, it should be called something applicable to that. If it is the paramater that you can adjust in the ECM that shift EFI and timing based upon ambient conditions and O2 output, it would be the AFV. Or am I wrong? BTW, the AFT meter in mV (micro volts) jumps around a quite a bit even at the idle (from 100s to 1000s), variation of over 3 V (3000 mV). |
