Calendar status update. Recieved fourth go round on the proof today. Approved it and pulled the trigger on the printing.

I'll cut a check this weekend to see if there's anymore in there.

when dcbrag.org went belly-up for a few weeks and I thought the end had finally come, I put a page together with some of my stuff. Maybe there's something in there you can use for the next edition.

yes and one of the pics I was hoping would get used. Had it not been for this get off I would be ordering another but funds just aren't there right now.

Yours go out with the rest of the direct mailers straight from the printer on Monday or Tuesday.

Any orders later than this weekend will go out separately via Blake mail starting about 4/11.

I was told on Monday that they were in house at the Direct Mailing facility and would be going out on Tuesday.

Yesteday after lunch I get a call from the print-shop in Canada advising that a few of the color tones for April are off just a bit from the rest of the calendar, so they stopped printing at quantity 100 in order to consult with me. : ? I advise the nice young lady that she must have me confused with another customer, since my order is for job #3405 and I was told that it was in house at the direct mailing facility in Florida last week. "BadWeB calendars?" she asks. I affirm. "No that order is the one I'm taling about; I'm looking at one of the pages for it right now."

"But how can that be?" I ask, "you promised a five day turn around, and I approved your fourth proof submittal on Monday March 28th??!!"

So the guy in FL lied about the calendars being there on Monday. WTF???

As for the printing discrepancy, it turns out that the difference is noticeable for the badweb beige background color and for the dark blue of the month/year title text is all. Quality of picture and printing is good, just a bit different shading for the April calendar page is all. So next year we'll make each background different!

So, still gnashing my teeth, I authorized the printing to continue and got them to FedEx whatever they could produce by deadline yesterday to the direct mailing service. If the people at the direct mailing facility keep their word, the first 122 calendars are on their way via first class mail for domestic deliveries and air-mail for overseas orders. The list included orders for 182 calendars, so there will be 60 orders that won't go out until Monday of next week.

Please accept my appologies and fogive me for lying to everyone. This has been a true exercise in frustration for me.

I learned my lesson. No selling printed stuff until it is printed and in hand!

But as I've said all along...

It is all CJ's fault! joker


The good news is that it looks like at present we've raised almost $1,000 for the FX racer's fund. Thanks to Chris and Dani at Gail's Harley-Davidson for ordering up twenty calendars just the other day.

BTW, did anyone who ordered via the ebay store NOT navigate to it via the hyperlinks posted atop this page?

I ask because ebay is supposed to provide a referral credit worth 75% of their sales fee for all ebay store inventory item sales that result from referrals by web pages outside of the ebay domain.

I'm pretty sure almost all ebay orders originated through the hyperlinks atop this page and so should thus gain referral credit, but ebay has not provided a single such credit.

They may send you an email asking if you did indeed navigate to the BadWeatherBikers ebay store via the hyperlinks atop this page.

Please be sure to respond, especially if you did indeed use the BadWeB hyperlink as described. It will be worth about $100 if ebay does the right thing and provides the credit for each of the orders.

Apparently this is not just an issue with a few ebay stores, their ebay discussion forum is full of complaints about this very issue.

Sorry Hugh; that was probably more than you bargained for. Thanks for letting me vent.

PS: I just confirmed the situation with the actual manager of the direct mailing service that packages with multiple calendars are shipping today via FedEx ground, and they will ship overseas and the rest beginning tomorrow through Monday. He seems to be an honest and forthright man.

Who'll be the first to receive their calendars?
