This is the first time I've done this; but let's give it a try! I am looking to start a thread that describes great rides in each state. Please describe the location, the distance and when is a good time to go and places to stopover or rest as the case may be.
ARIZONA: Sierra Vista, AZ, take the scenic route 82 for twenty miles and turn left on to 83 at Senoita. That will go for about twenty miles until it dead ends into I-10. You can go left to Tucson or right to Sierra Vista from the highway. There are a couple of rest areas along the way but that is about it. Great all year long and the sunsets are awesome! |

Michigan: Northern portion of state ONLY, Any route along the lakes, or most backroads. I am very familiar with the roads around Bellaire (30 miles from Charlevoix). Great Twisties (usually with a couple hills before and after the turn), couple good decreasing radius turns, plus great views along Torch Lake Drive... watch out for Grey hairs on that road though... |

No that stretch of road is right along Torch Lake, and is a 2 lane 30 MPH road, but killer twists... one side is houses, the other side is like 4-6 feet of dirt then LAKE!! and the old ladies like to drive 10 MPH along that stretch... |

Does anyone know of great routes in Texas? I will be about one hour North of Austin and don't know the surrounding area? |

Check out the Twisted Thrills Tale. The Hill Country out by Leakey has some awesome riding. There are some good areas near Austin too. Lime Creek Road along Lake Travis is twisty but can be trafficy on weekends. |
