Larry, qoute"I don't know what I was thinking asking this group for help. Thanks anywaysgot the information I needed by a more gracious group." }There is more Buell knowledge in this group, than you will find in any DEALERSHIP...PERIOD.So,if you have a Buell problem or question, you can always get help or answers here. The answers you get will be the correct ones, the honest ones. Its your bike, put whatever on it YOU want, but being honest has nothing to do with NOT being gracious.I myself,if given a hypercharger, would immediately pawn it off on a HARLEY RIDER,a cruiser, they look good along side all their chrome parts. |

Richie, that was exactly my point. I know theres knowledge here and was the primary reason I asked. I didn't ask if the charger was the best performance product, (I know it's not) what I asked was for help installing it. All I was curious about was the vacuum line and where to "T" it off. I have since figured it out. Let me say it again. I DON'T CARE HOW FAST MY BIKE IS. It's not how I ride. If I worried about that I wouldn't ride a Buell. Anyways, I wasn't mad more disappointed that because what I wanted to do, wasn't what everybody else thought was best therefore the knowledge wasn't shared. |

Sorry I've been absent for the past week or so... been busy pimping my brother's ride. I don't know if you guys have seen the pimp my ride or Overhaulin shows on TV lately but my brother is always talkin about how he wanted his ride pimp'd...well, he left for cancun a week ago and me and my brother in law and the nephews got busy.... I am offering this here because it's so damn funny. a little background: My brother is in the Marines he's currently stationed with the KU ROTC program becoming an officer after 7 years in the Corps. His most recent previous dispatchment with the First Force Recon unit. With all this in mind, we went to work on his "Ride", mind you a new Dodge Ram Pickup is a bit expensive for a bunch of amateurs to butcher so we started small.....His campus cruiser: Shanghai'd minutes after he and his wife boarded the plane. the dissassembly started. We decided on a camo paint job: and then the Ideas started rolling in, we made a trip to the surplus store for some ammo cans, stickers, patches, netting, canteen, pouches, and first-aid kit. we left no stone unturned.... so to make a week long story a little shorter... here's what he ended up with: (trust me you'll laugh) notice the new buttons and switches installed left and right of the keyswitch, water cannon is on the left (windshield washer pump fed off the canteen) next to the "wolf whistle" button denoted by the camel toe . org logo, the switch far right adds air horns to the regular horn circuit to clear those really persistant pedestrians..... speed limits now thats funny, this thing tops out at about 35 on a good downhill. here's one of the presentation pics from this afternoon note the slightly bewildered look on his wife's face, apparently she's finding out how the family works. fifteen minutes later our first casualty: a couple of more: no more looking like some fag on a lipstick red scoot....he's been pimped whether or not he'll ever ride it in public again is beyond the point. he actually LOVED it. |

camo paint job is a great idea to help cagers see you Just kidding, I definately think it's an improvement. Wanted to share this quick link with you guys... http://www.washtimes.com/national/20050328-125306-7868r.htm NACO, Ariz. -- Members of a violent Central America-based gang have been sent to Arizona to target Minuteman Project volunteers, who will begin a monthlong border vigil this weekend to find and report foreigner sneaking into the United States, project officials say. James Gilchrist, a Vietnam veteran who helped organize the vigil to protest the federal government's failure to control illegal immigration, said he has been told that California and Texas leaders of Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, have issued orders to teach "a lesson" to the Minuteman volunteers. "We're not worried because half of our recruits are retired trained combat soldiers," Mr. Gilchrist said. "And those guys are just a bunch of punks." Love the quote at the end |

TOMMY CASTRO will be playing in Kansas City this Thursday night. Showing up in BUELL GARB is a good thing. If you have never seen this guy live, seize the moment to see why Carlos Santana and B. B. King described him as one of the best. His show is unbelievable. Court |

Sam... That is way too cool. Which gives me a brain drizzle. (Not to be confused with a brain storm). Since Sharon is still out of work... the CT70 project has been put WAY down on the priority list. Probably won't happen this year. However... any idea worth having is worth stealing. Assuming I get my Iraqi job (and that is a huge assumption yet) What would a desert cammo Honda CT70 look?

Hey Dennis, I just talked with one of my co-workers today about the possibility of you joining the firarm team in Iraq. Turns out his brother is the guy who trains you old men into buff soldiers and sends you over there, he said it was pretty sad! His brother said he sent guys (old men over 30), over there that couldn't even touch the back of their heads with both hands!!!!!!! I thought HEY, Dennis can do that!!!!hehee |

Paul... I will type slowly so I don't lose you or confuse you... or is it too late? I am not applying for one of the mercenary jobs (civilian fire teams). The job I am applying for is as an instructor at an Iraqi Police Academy as a firearms instructor. Old guys that can touch the back of their heads with both hands who are certified instructors can do this. I touch the back of my head every day. I put my feet on my desk at work, lean back in my chair, put both hands behind my head, and give people schit who try and mess with this "Old Guy". My number 2 boss, which is the highest career position. (The number 1 boss is a presidential appointee.) As I started... my number 2 boss admitted to me that I intimidate him. I was shocked by this... lil' ole me intimidate people... that is just unbelievable!!! I think this old man might just surprise you... the package might be shop worn, but there is still fire in the furnace. Last month a young tough gangbanger who was our guest and who acted up in court, was very embarrassed to have an old man solve his problem! He was refusing to go into the courtroom. I picked him up, carried him in, and ploped him down into a chair. You should have seen the look on his face. All in front of a bunch of his friends. Oh My!! Remember... some of my toys at work are machineguns. I have taught SMG (submachineguns) to two drug task forces, the Grandview PD tactical unit, the Independence PD tactical unit, and others. Some of my training has been by former British SAS and former Navy SEAL, on weapons. My SAS buddy is about 2 inches shorter than me and looks like "Marvin Milktoast". If you ever saw him, you would never guess he was one of the guys that took the Iranian Embassy back from the terrorist back in the 1980s. Then or now! Be nice to old people! FOOD FOR THOUGHT:I recently read about law enforcement using submachine guns.Their thinking is that more rounds are better.Thats why they can have a firefight and shoot hundreds of rounds without ever hitting anything.I was told by members of the KCMO Police Department and the Jackson County Sherrifs Department that most never shoot their weapons unless they are qualifying.THATS SCARY.Im sure its about the same for all the Federal people who carry, most just dont shoot.Thats why when you hear of any type of law enforcement being involved in a firefight there are hundreds of rounds shot and no hits, and thats if the target isnt moving.I will probably never shoot a submachine gun,but I dont need one,I'm one of the new breed of shooters that believes 1 shot precisely placed is better that hundreds of rounds shot in a general direction.I think its neat that most of the world class shooters arent military and arent law enforcement, they are civilians that shoot. The moral of the story isnt to shoot hundreds of rounds in a general direction, but one at a time in one direction,at one target, one after another for hundreds of rounds. |

The concept is a bit more complex than that. Because of this people are misinformed and incorrectly assume the proper usage. Another factor is marksmanship vs combat shooting. Standing in front of a target, getting the perfect sight picture, getting a clean break of the trigger, having good follow through becomes EXTREMELY challenging when some one is shooting at you. One becomes a bit distracted! First of all, hundreds of rounds in actual shooting come down in fact over the past several years to a hand full of shootings out of a huge number of shootings. The average shooting lasts a coupla seconds and might be 2 to 4 rounds from the statistics. Of course the news media like to sensationalize these rare exception to the rule high round count police shootings. Most of which have unusual circumstances. The bank robbery in California where the guys had machineguns and the cops had pistols. Oh yea... the bad guys also had military grade body armor. Sorta difficult to get that perfect trigger press as someone rips a long burst of AK47 ammo at you. Then there was the Miami shooting of the bank robbers where they got in a fire fight with FBI agents. They were armed with mini-14 rifles, and the agents had revolvers and shotguns. Shooting into or through a car even with.223 ammo is not as easy as most might think. They also had the resolve to fight to the death, as they were not going back to prison. They were under the influence of a very powerful drug, adrenalin. One took a non-survivable wound. The 9mm round tore the bottom of the heart out. He continued to return fire and was a threat for a couple more minutes, after taking that hit. He was hit with a well placed shot, and was going to die, but had the resolve to fight and continued to do so until he bled out. Then there was the shooting in Florida during an arrest. Drug dealer in a car shooting, U.S. Marshals being shot at while attempting the arrest. About 90 rounds were fired total... before the fight ended. It seems all that steel in the car doors and the body of the car, stopped the bullets fired at the bad guy. Also, typically the round count is not accurate, as the total is shot fired by the cops and by the bad guys. Then there was the car in Iraq that was driven into a convoy. The fire team fired about 300 rounds into the car before it stopped. Chewed the car up pretty bad. They took three wounded badguys out of that car. Yes... wounded. It seems cars are difficult to shoot into even with 5.56mm military ammunition. Humans are very resilient. Humans are difficult to stop with handgun calibers, and often with rifle calibers. The brain stem and the spine are the only guaranteed one shot stop. It is a small target when drawn on paper. Add to that a moving breathing human, then have that moving person shooting at you, and the difficulty factor multiplies. For those hunters. You use a powerful rifle caliber to shoot a deer with a carefully aimed shot. That deer has all the vital organs as a human. That deer might weigh something near an adult human. But when shot with the carefully aimed powerful rifle caliber, the deer runs off into the woods, and that is not a unique occurrence. No one is surprised. It probably happens more times than not. You can often go a hundred yards or more until you find a dead or dying deer. Not unexpected by hunters. However... someone shoots a human with one puny pistol round, and they are shocked when the person is hit with a good hit and does not go down. It is the BS of TV and movies. A guy gets shot once, he flies back into a wall and instantly dies. That is not only BS, it is impossible. If the bad guy was blown back by being shot, then the shooter would also be blown back off his feet when he shoots the gun that did that to the one hit. TV and movies are the most inaccurate depictions of shooting possible. I have done force on force training. Paint ball, simunition, marking rounds that hurt a bit when hit and mark you with paint or color. When one is being shot at it is not uncommon in training to see the students marksmanship skills drop. Even being hit with or shot at by clearly nonlethal rounds makes it difficult to shoot accurately. The only time I will get onto a student for improper response, is if I shoot them and they stop the fight. I ask... “Why did you not shoot back (or stop shooting)?” Typical response... “I got hit.”. My counter... “Are you dead?”. The answer is usually something like “I got hit, yeah!” Followed by a stronger response by me with my voice raised a bit... “Right now, as you stand, ARE YOU DEAD?” They of course answer no. I then tell them to NEVER stop fighting. Even if hit, that only means you are hit. Continue to fight, never give up! Machineguns. There are full auto, which has very limited use, particularly in law enforcement. There is burst fire, two or three shots per trigger press, no more. Even the military has gone to burst fire on the M16/M4 platform. Only the belt fed weapons are full auto. In Viet Nam, something like 10,000 rounds were fired for each accounted enemy kill. In police work burst fire can be useful in close quarters, really no more than 10 yards from a highly skilled officer. Most officers are not highly skilled. I train that if they are further than across a room (as in house, not a business with bigger rooms) DO NOT USE BURST. One hit and one miss from weapons climb accomplishes nothing. Each round has to be accounted for! In room distance shooting, a 2 or 3 shot burst to center mass is pretty effective in stopping a fight. Machineguns have very limited use in LE, and the operator SHOULD be highly skilled. Not just every officer get access to burst fire weapons. I selected 2 shot burst when we ordered ours. This way the chances of rounds lost due to weapons climb is minimized. I also teach if they are more than small room distance from you, DON”T EVEN DREAM OF USING BURST FIRE! TV and movies cause the worst misconceptions of gun fights, shootings, weapons handling, wound/kill capability, tactics, and so much more. If it is seen on TV or a movie, generally it is believed to be accurate. Yep... accurate shooting is the best way to end a gun fight. Of course when you are shooting paper it can be easy. Have someone shooting back at you, and you might be shocked at just how distracting it can be!!! I got this book on plumbing at Barnes & Noble. Crap that stuff looks easy!!! How long is an apprenticeship... a coupla weeks? How long to be a master plumber... a few months? Every plumber is a master plumber right? Cops carry guns, very few cops are gun experts. Just as cops carry radios, but you don’t think they are an electronics expert. For most cops, the gun is a tool. Just as his other gear is. Just like in plumbing it takes a lot to be a master plumber, and even reaching that goal, not every master plumber is an expert. I am sure you know of someone who is a master plumber, and his work quality is crap! Same with cops. Most cops are just average shooters, and may only know stuff about the gun type they carry. They may not have a clue about other types of weapons. Combat shooting ain’t like TV and the movies!!!! Plumbing ain’t just getting a book at a book store!
