Yuma, Az is my home town. Our population is now 93,000. San Luis, Az to our south is a quarter our size, yet, they have ten times the P.O. boxes. Hmmmm, I wonder what's in those boxes???? It's called your tax dollars... |

that's an even better reason.i saw the minuteman piece on fox news tonite.i voted for bush, but here lately i have had the uncontrollable urge to kick him in the nuts.callin' those folks vigilantes, and they ain't killed nobody-yet.they didn't have anything to say about the gang members that are supposed to "teach them a lesson".i would like to teach them a couple of lessons{the gang bangers that is}like trigger control and double tap drills. |

There's a reason the "minutemen" are referred to as vigilantes: vig·i·lan·te ( P ) Pronunciation Key (vj-lnt) n. One who takes or advocates the taking of law enforcement into one's own hands It's called education, try it sometime. Ya know if you really care and want to make money, the Border Patrol is always hiring. You can be making $60k in 3 years. (Message edited by josh_ on March 29, 2005) |

anyone other than my grumpy ol self feel, oh, I dunno, kinda angry about the fact that we're sending folks into harm's way in jury-rigged pickups? (pic above) somebody tell me this is an effective weapons system, the pic was taken in Yuma, or something else to get me down off my soap box b4 I send a rocket to my congressman, please |

John, I'm thinking it might be a commandered vehicle retrofitted in the field. Take a corporate truck, add in parts from a destroyed armored vehicle, instant makeshift transportation. I kind of highly doubt the U.S. Military would send a white crewcab pickup over there. I could be wrong, and probably am. |

yeah, you're likely right, but not given the troopers what they need is the point -- I'm all for field-expediant R&D (played that game myself a bunch, once upon a time, in a land far away), but that's just goofy -- sheesh, with what we're paying, those folks deserve the best we can procure -- and more |

Agreed. Send the letter regardless. Send the pic as an attachment provided it doesn't get the soldiers in hotter water. I still can't believe a General actually forbid soldiers from carrying knives, heard that story from several sources a year or two ago. |

Hello gents, just went on my first Buell ride today since last Fall. I had brain surgery on Feb 24th, unfortunately an aneurysm, but did not bleed everywhere and I am recovering slowly back to 100%. My bro Prior (AWPRIOR) who some of you probably know and rode with has been calling me about everyother day, keeping me on the good side of things. But at anyrate, I am back on my 2001 M-2 the ole trusty steed, and am starting a few short rides before I go on any trips. Had to wrench on it for about an hour cleaning it all up, to get it to fire on both cylinders, now it is up to par. You aint lying about the vehicles over there, a good friend of mine is finally walking after running around in an unarmoured HMMV, it took an RPG round on the right front rim. He is in better spirits now, and is attempting to get back on board his bike, if he can still ride alright, he maybe on the market for a Buell. Hope you all take care, going to head out for one more spin, Brian Cessna |

no thanks Josh.retired from law enforcement after after 15 years, though 500 is better than 0,just a drop in the bucket compared to what they need.what they need is the freakin' military on the border from texas to cali. |

Prior, maybe the end of April, or mid April somewhere around there. I could go for a nice weekend ride hopefully by then. Maybe we can figure out a place to meet, and just head out that way. I was doing fine with the helmet on and all, just hurts a bit when trying to take it off. I am not riding without one, never do. I got her all fired up, went about 15 miles today, I was pleased. Tommorrow should be nice here in Western PA, so I may ride around and polish it all up before my nite class. Take care |

Just a quick note, one of our local riders, Wyckedflesh, went down last saturday coming back from a great ride up in the Arizona mountains. He will be ok, he received a fractured elbow, and a small scrape on his pinky. His bike was broken in half though, and will need a little help getting it back together. you can read about the incident in the storm fronts/AZbuellers thread. drop in there and give Wycked your support. He just got out of the hospital and is home recovering. I'm sure he would appreciate your well wishes. Bartimus |

>retired from law enforcement after after 15 years Are you kidding? From your posts I'd take you for about 19. What/where LEO? Yeah, the military on the border, that would be a great use of our defense budget. |

A guy walking down the street sees a woman with spectacular breasts and offers her $100 to let him bite them. Are you nuts? she scoffs. What about for $1,000? he asks. Listen, you sick pig, she says. I'm not that kind of woman. You wouldn't even do it for $10,000? the man asks hopefully. You'll pay me $10,000 to bite my breasts? she asks. OK, let's go over to that dark alley. Once there she takes off her blouse, and the guy begins caressing her breasts, kissing them, and fondling them. Hey, are you gonna bite them or what? she huffs. Nah, he shrugs. Too expensive. |

Steve, would be a pleasure to say hello agian. Will have to see what the finances look like, and if I manage to get some type of job this summer, which is rough since most places have turned me down due to this surgery. Would be great to ride down there, one of my favorite places, and chill out for awhile. I hope I can pull something off, thank you for the invitation! Brian |

Interesting, RRW cut the part at the end where I said...
quote:PS: If you don’t subscribe to RRW, you are a fool and probably don’t know what the heck you are talking about or even which way is up.
No safe bets allowed. The awards go to the top finishing Buell racers, no matter where they finish overall. Yes it was disappointing to not be able to pay any awards at Daytona. |

I think it was a pretty good tongue in cheek stab at ourselves. It would be nice to know what corporate thinks about a bunch of riders stepping up to the plate. For that matter has any other riders group ever attempted this? |
