OK, as many of you know I am putting an X1 tail on my M2. I have worked over the X1 tail with a trim here and a grind there so I dont need to cut into the bikes frame. This way I can put my stock M2 seat and tail back on for longer rides. Anyway, I am looking into a smaller dry/gel cell Batt. for mounting under the tail. I hate the look of that nasty Batt. & homemade looking clamp just out in the open. My first thought was on it's side tucked in just past the oil tank. Another thought was going with an aftermarket oil tank for a sportster and just swap them. Mount the Batt. in the stock oil tank place where its not seen. Then have a good looking/easy to service oil tank in the open. Any thoughts????? anyone else done it? |

I think it would be safe to say no one has tried to put a X1 tail on a M2. IT'S BLASPHAMY I TELL YOU!!! Anyway, I am curious about the dry cell battery you wer talking about. I also like the sound of the oil tank being moved. That sounds very trick! |

Too bad Optima doesn't make a gel cell for motorcycles. Here's a battery that can be mounted on it's side or at an angle. maybe it would fit. http://www.batterymart.com/battery.mv?p=ODY-PC545MJ |

carguy, I'd like to hear what you did to the X1 tail to fit it to an M2 without cutting...Have thought of doing it as well but wasn't ready to cut the frame. I like the idea of switching back and forth as needed. |
