Ok, Where to start... Fist things first I guess, I took the blast all the way to the mechanic, only to figure out that the bike was out of gas....LOL...hmmm, I opened the tank and splashed it around? well I guess the pick up is a bit high on the blasts, who knew....LOL....lesson learned about that though. More then likely why the headers was glowing also, it was running lean cause it was out of fuel. I did end up changing the pilot jet from a 42 (i guess this is what they run in CA) to a 45. Now, who all thinks that is about as dumb as you can get?.....well?....Keep reading folks, I get dumber. I go and pick up my bike finally today, he says take it easy, shift before 3500 rpm and all that good stuff, so I say ok. I leave, head down 72nd right in front of the lows and my pant leg starts riding up over the top of my boot. I reached down to fix it, my foot slips off the peg and I go down at like 25mph....$%&*!!!! you have to be kidding me, it was so fast, I did a safety roll and was back on my feet to watch the bike slide about 60FT and come to rest by the curb. Amazing how far they slide, even at low speed. So, next time you see me, be sure to point and laugh, I have it coming.. Items ordered today to replace broker items: Front and Rear left side blinkers S1 handlebars (I might call and cancel this cause I think the ones i had on my bike were not stock and I like how low they were) Clutch lever (don't really have to replace it, just some rash on the ball. Items still in need of: Rearsets, pegs, ( i have a bid on ebay for a set, that are the relocated style like my crossroads set The derby cover is needing to be replaced also, but i have the one I took off when I bought the skull one. There is light rash on the tail section, chin fairing and rash on the tank. I think the tank is fixable but not sure. I wish I had a host for pics Helmet hit the ground by very little (is it horrible to still use it?) Gear is pretty much trashed, holes in knee area, one bigger hole in the shoulder. Buell gloves are ruined. Also had the chatterbox on the helmet at the time, it didnt make it. ALL in all it was a pretty #$%&ed day for me, gotta love these buells. |

Nobody's laughing Branden. Just glad you were wearing the good stuff. Sounds mostly cosmetic, even tho expen$ive. I'd ask you how the bike felt, but you didn't get far enough to get out of 2nd gear. |

The bike was feeling great, sounded better then ever. I say that my foot came off the peg, only cause that is most logical, it is also possible the peg broke? there is some discoloration on the peg, that looks suspect, that is all that I'm saying....LOL.. It happened so fast, I don't really know what happened, but it hurt a bit....lol Glad to get it out of the way though, that is my first time going down on the pavement. Been down a few times on bicycles and a few times on dirt bikes though. |

Having crashed earlier for this century, I recommend everyone else put off any additional crashing untill next century. Glad to read that all will recover from their crash. I revived the Buell today and it started first try (the rain sucked)hopefully the nice weather will return soon. |

Ok, I didnt know that badweb would host the pics for ya. Here is one with my bike and Shotguns in the background, this is the bikes good side. The pics sucks cause I left my camera on a crappy setting. Here is a head on that shows the bent bars on what would be your right side.

Im not really sure, but I dont think you want your pistons to look like this. Or your cyclinders to look like this. Here is my baby under the knife.

BRAG gang – I think it would be a great idea to make a club event and ride schedule. This would help keep us all involved and it would be a good thing to send to other local riders. I would like to make this in a calendar type form. I need some help doing this. I am helping a close friend deal with some serious addiction problems, between that and my jobs I’m pretty burnt. If you have ride/event ideas please post them or email them to me. If you have ever made a calendar or done any relevant desktop publishing the club needs you too. Thank you |

S1H, Glad there were no serious injuries from your crash. How many miles did that engine have on it? Were you doing alot of stop and go type driving when you first noticed the problem? I have always thought that thermal management was not sufficiently addressed in the older Buells. I think you have to equate driving a tube frame Buell to driving a vintage muscle car, they are cool but far more problematic (expensive to maintain) than a 2005 Honda Civic. P.S. I think the Derby Cover looks better with the face scratched off the skull, kinda gives it that chain saw massacre look. |

Roc, One ride for sure will be SPLASH July 15,16 17th. I am going to call today and talk to the motel management in Woodland and Packwood. I will post more about it later today. Chris and I were talking and we think that we should stick with the traditional SPLASH route (both short and long rides) and pray that the mountian will be nice to us. If for some reason we have to change the route we will. Is this OK with all involved? Let me know your ideas. So if everyone is OK with this our schedual will be: Friday July 15th: BBQ at Horseshoe Lake Park Saturday July 16th: Meet at Horseshoe Lake Park between 8-8:30. Riders meeting 8:30, leave at 9. Meet in Packwood. Maps will be available. Sunday July 17th: Maybe ride the north side of the mountian up to Coldwater ridge? Bob, if we do this can you call Acidburn and see if he is going to make it? Loni |

Jim, the bike had like 38K on it, I noticed it a few days after returning from splash I think. It was making a noise. The issue was that the original owner didnt do the break in on the bike, also when we got deeper into the motor we found that the valve lifters where starting to fail on the intake side. |

S1H... don't feel bad being snickered at for your little get-off. My best went like this; Debbie, Roadrash and I were stopped talking about wich way to go, up or down, left or right, some like that. I'm sittin' there with the clutch in, and now were ready to go. I lean just a smidge as I start letting out the clutch, and I don't feel any thrust building. So I let out a little more, and still no G's, other than the ones I feel pulling me over to the tarmac. Last gasp drop the clutch and nothing but the ground zooming up and then I get tossed off into a roll with a big noisey clank! Wasn't in gear, don't ya know. All I will say is I'm not the only member of the F.O.G.G to have performed this manouver... I also feel you should be warned about the possible after effects of your bike trying out the whole ritual scarifaction, tribal zombieism, modern primative thing. It started out seemingly innocent enough, one scuff down the side of the tank, sort of a duelling scar kind of thing... ... and well, befor you know it she wants more, and more, and pretty soon shes lookin' like a old hooker with a heart of gold... It just seems hard to stop once you get started... Just thought you should know, bro! sooner, Galen |

Brandon, I'm glad you weren't hurt in your get off. Don't feel all alone and pregnant. I thought Janel was going to kill me last month when the urge got to strong and I tried tried to ride to work one morning. I made it as far as the corner and when I when to pull away from the stop, the next thing I knew I was on my side watching a Cyclone go sliding along on the airbox and rear brake lever. Oh well, now I have an excuse to buy that billet aircleaner setup I've been eying. Of course I did have to listen to the " I told you it was too cold" remarks. |

Count Tracie and I in, on one bike or two we still dont know, but we will be attending. Thanks for the posts guys. Mostly it is just the cost of the incident that bugs me the most. All I had to do was wait 60 more feet and there was a stop sign. LOL |

OK, Let's get this on the right track! I am getting old...During the Daytona Race Party our discussion was to just stay in Woodland both nights and doing day rides from there on Saturday and Sunday. Deb and Bob were here for dinner last night and we talked it over and think that is a better idea for this year. This way everyone won't have to unpack gear, and repack, carring it with them to the next destination. So I will post the information of where everyone can make reservations at motels. I will also try and find out what motels have hot tubs, pools, ect. I will get that posted today. Loni |

Any plan is a good plan, Loni. I already know my way back from the long loop to Woodland 'cause I did that when I got lost last year.LOL. Redhat, I'd advise against a billet aircleaner. They're too heavy and crack air-cleaner brackets. Ask Funjimmy. Or Deb. Mines being replaced with a carbon-fibre S2-type. Brandon, good to hear that you're mechanical troubles are working their way to conclusion. Now if you could do something about your riding skills. (Message edited by Sportyeric on March 27, 2005) |
