Charlotte-I read your post too-Congrats to you! Let us know how your interview goes today! Good luck! The reason I can't just pack up and leave is basically...money-it simply costs a ton of money to sell a house and move everything up there, and if neither of us have jobs when we get there, we have no way to pay the bills. Maybe someday when we have built up a more substantial savings account we can afford to do that, but not now! And yes I know I'm only 25 but the wife and I are thinking of kids and the longer I stay in a career other than MC's and if I start having kids and all...it makes moving and changing careers even more difficult... At any rate, with enough work and a little luck I can make it work. I know that. I can do anything I put my mind to. later, Nick |

Nick, Don't have kids!!! They will cut into your riding time... eh he he he... just kidding... Yeah, I think the approach of getting a job before quitting your current one is best... I, however, tend to be pretty intolerant of extreme BS so the last two I have quit without a new job... Interview went really really really well, the sales manager I like too (he would be my boss). I am thinking of all the young hot men I might meet if I get the job!!! Hee hee hee... no more 20 somethings for me though. Id like a nice filthy rich 40 year old MD who can take me to the Bahamas every Christmas... ha ha ha. Charlotte |

Charlotte-You should definitely go for the rich doctor! I tell my wife that all the time, but she just won't listen to me! Glad to hear your interview went well!!! When do you start??? Luckily my boss, coworkers etc are very cool. I'm definitely not in the same place you were-I have been in the same place you were earlier in life and did exactly what you did, but these are not drastic times and therefore do not require drastic measures! Twowheeldream-Thanks for the link! I saw that job opening on several pages, but I lack the qualifications necessary (no MMI or AMI cert), and the necessary experience (3 years working as an MC tech). Plus the wife hates the desert! I could probably sway her to live there for a little while but it would not be a fun conversation. I have applied for several jobs up in WI, and I hope something may come of it, but my experience -and several of my friends- has been that you won't get hired unless you're local or transfering with the same company. (Unless of course you're some kind of God and everyone wants to hire you.) I'm thinking about going into manufacturing...If I got a job in manufacturing that had some relevance to producing motorcycles, and at the same time upped my experience with bikes, that would be a good segway into the MC industry... Any other brilliant ideas are welcome! take care ya'll, Nick |
