Whats a good way to lug around a spare helmet, incase you wanna pick up the girlfriend (or someone else's gf, but thats a different story) after work. Can you strap it to the passenger seat of an XB-S? I dont think it would be good to hang it off the passenger foot rests? a back pack seems like the only good way so far.? |

Bigeasy beat me to it. You can get those elastic thingies at any motorcycle shop for about $10. I've done it before and have no problems. DO NOT use one of the helmet locks on the bike to transport the helmet. (Message edited by slaughter on March 23, 2005) |

Speaking of the helmet lock, where does the cable lock to?} |

In a pinch, I've strapped the helmet to my jacket which has straps at the bottom to keep it snug to your body. I don't reccommend it. Very uncomfortable, and I don't even want to think about what would have happened if I had hit the helmet on a car or a light pole or something. |

I watched a guy fly by me with a helmet strapped down to the back seat with one of the bungees. A few minutes later I seen the Helmet bouncing down the freeway! I put mine in my backpack. |

A couple of us guys have done this under the pass. seat: It fits more snug against the bike with my Arai helmet though. |

T9R, it'll stay there on the highway better than one of those bungee nets? |

I don't know who originally came up with that under the seat helmet lock but it works great (when the bike is parked). Thanks!! |

I don't trust the helmet locks. Looks to me like someone could just walk up with a pair of scissors and cut the strap. |

OK, so they cut the strap, now the helmet's useless. If that happens, my insurance covers it. No deductible. T9r's mod is what I did and it's one of my best additions yet... |

The helmet is useless? Can't you order a new strap? |

I've never tried to order a new strap, but I'd be kinda surprised if a helmet company would sell you one, because the strap is a pretty integral part of the helmet. Since the helmet only works if it is kept snug against your face/head, it seems like it's a structural part of the helmet. I know that if I ran a helmet company the only way to order a new strap would be if there was an entire helmet attached to it! |

I agree with Charlieboy.. one of the best additions yet! The best, cheapest mod you can make. |

I saw some helmet quick release strap's that might work if enough of the strap was left . But if they've cut the strap, wouldn,t that mean your helmet is gone for good!? Any how, there are some on ebay ,made by echo. |

Check out Riderstation.com, look for Helmet Hugger, I have 3 of them. For $14 each its the only way to carry your gear or a extra helmet. After getting my $500 Shoei cut off the helmet"lock" of my bike a few years ago, I always carry it. ##** theives! And I still have the "D" rings as a souvenier from Bikeweek 99 Daytona! |

That's exactly what I'm saying. I have a $500 Arai and I don't feel even slightly comfortable leaving it locked to my bike. |

I've never had a problem with leaving my helmet strapped to the bike while I'm not around, of course I have a $100 scratched up ugly POS!

CoolIce, You can ride with an extra helmet in that fanny pack? seems like the best idea so far |

The Bob- Yes it converts to a backpack, The shoulder straps are comfortable too. I recommend them, I have 3. Great for going to shows or when the weather is changing. You can wear it as a fanny pack and as the day gets warmer zip it open and put gear inside and wear as a backpack. Try one. |
