I have said all along I enjoy the crap out of ridin' this bike, but yesterday, while taking a "Quick" blast down the road and back between jobs, I was grinnin like a fool! I enjoy pullin' the front wheel up now and again ( just air, no wheelie stuff), and once in a while I'll "Try" to pull off a nice first gear wheelie. Well between being half scared and pretty much ignorant when it comes to street bike wheelies, I don't do so well. Then.... I pulled out from a stop sign on a nice little two lane road, and while passing through the 4k range, backed off, then cranked it. I was just hungering for that sweet exhaust note, but to my surprise, the front well came up like it was makin a hill climb. No sweat, no work, as effortless as fallin off a log. Man that was cool. It's not something I am going out and trying to do, but it was awesome to hear that V-twin rap and feel that power. The down side is it rained today, my one day off,... and alas, no riding Oh how I do enjoy riding this bike |

Yeah, better be polite or get ticket! I did the same thing today, wheelies in the rain and a quick banzai run to the store for smokes. It was great, just starting to rain a 3 mile run for smokes , a couple of wheelies and home again. No cops , little wet and a good adrenaline rush. A good day in tom's world |

I came out of the dealer the other day. There was no traffic coming so I rolled out into a sharp right hander. I shifted weight and whacked it. I was just looking for the quick accel really but boy was I surprised. Now I'm a novice, TOTALLY, when it comes to wheelies. Like Deerhunter, I enjoy riding 1st gear out for all it's worth but that's about it. As I whacked it in the turn, the front tire came up in a slow beautiful climb. I was scared to let off the gas cuz I was still leaned over so I rode it out, shifted weight to neutral after turning and set the wheelie down as I was straightening. Now, I'm sure someone coming the opposite way was oooing and Ahhhing but I was scared stiff as it happened. After all was well I smiled, and it's been hard to rid myself of it... I wish I knew how to replicate that turn! In hindsight, it was beautiful! |

Now hammer it real good and get a second gear wheelie. Those are fun, too. Bob |
