So far we have real good numbers , especially down low and good power up top....look at the dyno runs on www.kdfab.com in the gallery under dyno sheets for the 2 new test runs...it will take a little more time but I'll keep you guys posted on the results.... Thanks, Kevin www.kdfab.com |

Nice! I'll bet it wheelies easily with the mid-range hit. I would be cool if you could get just a little more on the top, but I realize that would probably kill some low-end and mid-range which would lose my interest as I already have the Jardine (yeah I am greedy and always want more. xbolt12 |

Xbolt12, Like I said I'll keep you posted as I get results.....you can get farther ahead with that low-mid torque curve and check out that almost perfect air/fuel ratio across the board...no spitting , popping not idling , and all that other mess thats annoying.... Thanks, Kevin www.kdfab.com |

Xbolt12, Have your bike dynoed so I can tell which way to go, I've only seen one dyno sheet on the Jardine, I'd like to see more than one.... Thanks, Kevin www.kdfab.com |

Kevin, looks like your work over the winter paid off. That's the best Dyno chart for a 12 I've seen so far. The A/F ratio is incredibly consistent. I bet if we can get the A/F to stay flat but bring it down to 13 or so we'd make even more power. The next step is to prove that our Drummer SS can boast the same performance. |

Steve They called and reported 93peak hp after installing a new set of plugs and a increase on the # 3 pot. Told em to play with the timing. Let ya know when I find out more. |

That's what I was waiting for. Drummer is still the best pipe on the market for these motorcycles. That dyno from Norris is between 5-7hp better than any numbers I've seen on our dyno. |

Well Kevin I'm running a D&D and I love the sound. But my interest level is starting to rise on the drummer. When I put the D&D on I left the servo motor and cable intact. Can you make me one of the new style drummers for a xb12r thats loud? |

The new 12 is louder. I have not listened to a D&D, so I can’t compare the two. It's not as loud as drag pipes , but close and has a unique tunnel thumping sound at idle |

Buellman39, The results you see on the dyno is for the loud Drummer, the next series of tests are going to be for the regular sounding one..you need the tfi and filter and stock ecm or race ecm...one thing to say is that the flat air/fuel curve is not coming from the tfi, its the muffler design thats causing it, it started out at a flat 16:1 ratio and I needed the tfi to get it down to where it is now.... Sounds like a good combo, you should be making good power....do some dyno runs to see where you are at now.... Kevin www.kdfab.com |

"Xbolt12, Have your bike dynoed so I can tell which way to go, I've only seen one dyno sheet on the Jardine, I'd like to see more than one.... " I would like to, but out here in San Diego it costs about $250.00 so it's probably not going to happen until I do some serious mods. Right now I am running the stock ecm (with my servo emulator circuit), cut airbox,Race filter, TFI, cut down snorkel, heat foil on the bottom of the airbox, Jardine RT1 Ti exhaust. Seat of the pants tells me the Jardine is very weak on the bottom but strong on top. I was a little surprised by Slaughters? post showing Jardine on a dyno and it had less than stock at redline. If anyone knows of a reasonably priced dyno in southern CA, let me know. I would even travel to Glendale HD/Buell if the price is right! xbolt12 |

For all those that are tired of their D&d`s Exhaust and want to go to "Drummer" I`ll take your d&d`s off your hands for the right price NO plms. :-) |

BTW Kevin, I hope you did not think I was criticizing your efforts as I am impressed and may eventually change over to the new drummer. Also I did take note of the consistent af ratio. Good job on that one. AF is the main reason I want to get my xb dynoed. xbolt12 |

Xbolt12, Glendale is pretty standard on pricing and they have 2 really good Buell techs there now - Eric just got back after serving in the Gulf - he's a good guy - and Marek. I think their dyno is pretty busy. Call Ernie (extension 128) tell him you heard it from me on Badweb. I don't get a kickback but Ernie can point you to the right guy to get it dyno'd. Bartels does not have their water-brake dyno running right now so you can't hit/hold a single RPM - just a full-throttle bang-on and roll-off. Good enough for power/torque and tailpipe sniffing but not for detailed tuning. I think the next month, they're getting ready to move the service operation to other quarters so can't say how available their dyno is right now. One of the more knowledgeable dyno guys on the planet is Louie at L&L motorsports. He has a mobile dyno and is at Willow Springs every race weekend - and most other Western region races in AFM, CCS, WERA. He can be reached through his website. He's based in Littlerock. I think some basic prices are on his website. He does all the dyno work for Roadracing World for testing. He also sells VP race fuel and is a straight-shooter to ask all those questions about "race gas" v. "pump gas" that everybody seems to have. If I remember, a single pull for power/torque/exhaust sniffer is $25 www.landlmotorsports.com (Message edited by slaughter on March 18, 2005) |

Xbolt12, I would never think you meant any harm in your posts towards me, none was meant towards you or anyone on this site or associated with it, I'm trying to make the best exhaust for your Buells at an affordable price because I've bought everything once too and I know how they perform... Everyone has a preference and that's what makes us all different, but I was told by our good friend Bubba that the Buell people need a great slipon that will perform like a full system that we all can afford...so, here it is... www.kdfab.com Kevin |

XBOLT12.....The dealer up here in Fremont wants $400 to dyno tune a bike...so $250 is not too bad to me right now... |

$250 is what they get over here for a tune, or $100/hr just for general dyno work/runs... |

Ray Price HD in Raleigh NC charges 32.50 1/2 hour for a base line. 6 or 7 pulls, no tuning. |

Yes, Kevin, not TOO loud. I'll be sending you mine for modification (12 version) as soon as you have the kinks worked out. Perhaps the "loud bunch" will want something radical, but I prefer to keep it within reason and not have the neighbors callin' the noise police on me every morning... :-) |

When you’re setting the timing for max performance, do you need a HD digital tech or can you advance or retard the pickup? It seems if you move the pickup the injectors would be out of sync. And what’s the best plug gap to run? 2004 XB12 Thanks in advance! |
