This presumes one to think you believe there will be an aluminum framed Blast out at all. We may all know in about 14 days or so, or not, the ifs and if nots. Unless you have a source of info. |

Such a bike would only make sense financially for Buell if they where also producing a sport-touring bike as well, because then they would actually be filling more than one niche. A sport tourer would have the right rake and length for a Blast model as well. If they went to use all the stuff they have been Beta testing, then you would see a 550cc engine pumping out around 40 hp to the rear with a good basic shock, and basic USD suspension - perhaps fi, probably redline at 7100rpms - all curtesy of existing XB tech. Will Erik actually listen/go in this direction - I can only hope - the twin lovers would get the tourer they have been hollering for, and we would have an excellent single to base our own fun on - not that the Blast now isn't fun, just with such basic XB type components the modifications of the Basic Blast to super Blast would be a lot easier and fun. After missing the 650cc Bonneville record by 1.4 MPH (Just geared too high) on my 597 short stroke big bore Blast. Brian Nallin and I built a 644cc long stroke under-square engine. The 597 made 53 HP and 35 ft lbs of torque. the new 644 engine is 3.650 in by 3.800 in. and will be on the dyno in a month or so. Aluminum Frame? just sneak up on your steel one with your Sawzall and all you have left is the main frame down tube. Buy a little thin wall 4130 and you have new rear sub frame. Pictures next month |

I have my 3 13/16 cylinder and piston along with the Nallin Stage 3 Head available? Compression ratio is 10.5/1 and is set up to use Red Shift 585-V2 Cams. Only have about 10 jetting pulls on the dyno and 4 runs at Bonneville. This combo will spin to around 8200 RPM. Over $1600.00 new, e-mail me with an offer I can't refuse if interested. BDG-Terry |

The top looks like a modified pro series, and the bottom doesn't look like an intake, it looks like the rerouted crankcase breather.

The top is Tony's and Ray's custom intake using a Kurikuran carb spacer, some black pvc elbow - clamps and a K&N filter - the percussore to the Blast Pro series and lighter and better looking - lol GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Damn 15 years ago. Seem like not that long ago wanting an XB touring and an X Blast. Well at least we got the Uly X and XT before shutting down. I would have thought the Buell line was going to be around longer than I would be able to ride back then. |
