I'm wanting to get a solo seat for my S1 to make it a tad more comfortable doing distance trips on. What is the best solo seat for the S1? I've trip a Corbin on a BMW that I used to own and found that it made me sit farther back in the seat and placed more pressure on my wrists, is this also the case with the S1 Corbin seat? How is the Factory Buell solo seat? I have the small tail section and not the twin tail version. Thanks in advance. Hodakaguy |

H-Guy, you've got mail... In my experience, neither the stocker nor the Corbin will turn an S1 into a comfortable long distance bike. The only way to do that would be to jack up the S1's gas cap, and drive an S2 under it! That said, I've used both the stock seat and the Corbin. I found the Corbin to be flatter than the stocker, which puts pressure on my inner thighs where the bend of the seat hits them. After a hundred miles or so, it gets painful. The stocker has more of a "crown" in the middle, which I like. But the Corbin allows the rider to move around more in the fore-and-aft direction than the stocker, which I also like. My current set-up is the Corbin with a small strap-on gel pad for longer rides. Ya pays yer money and ya takes yer choice. But for long distance comfort, the S1 is not your best platform, in my opinion. rt |

Hodakaguy, Between the stocker and the Corbin, I'll take the Corbin. The trick to Corbin seats is the broad, flat seating area and contoured rear portion. It adds up to increased contact area which means reduced pressure at all points of butt contact. In combination with slightly lower and narrower 2" rise bars, I can do 500 mile days without too much discomfort on the S1. best, Lornce |

Thanks for the info, I may give it a try. Anyone try one of the Pro-race solo saddles from buell on a S1? (the one without the passenger accomodations). Hodakaguy |
