I'd buy one if there was something on the back to hang a set of bags and a soft pack on, that little cheese grater just doesn't get it. Here's another quote from that Street Rod test. "But maybe they don't want a power cruiser, maybe they want something racier, like this sport cruiser. And maybe, just maybe, they want something racier yet, such as a street version of the VR1000 Superbike. God knows I do. Built it Harley, and they will come" |

Xlcr, have you seen the new bags and tail trunk for the S models? Rather nice integration. |

Hey Jerry: Is this from your neck of the woods? The Kern County, California, Sheriff's Department orders plain white patrol units and has the graphics applied locally. In this case, what they ordered was not quite what they got. This car was driven for 1 week before an officer noticed what the graphics company employee did on the passenger side of the car. The employee did this on his last day working for the graphics company before he retired. Neil S. |

I'd almost say this is something Glitch would have done...but seems like it could be true. So many humorous pics out there are doctored up. |

On fitting on an XB motorcycle... I am 6'-3" tall and was totally in love with the tube frame Buells because I could actually fit on them, compared to other (japanese) bikes. I was looking forward to buying one of these bikes after I graduated from college and had some money, then about the time I starting looking to buying a bike, they came out with the XB model. I was let down when I went to the dealer to sit on one and found that it did not fit me as well. So buying a buell was put off because I did not think I could fit on them. Then the City X came out and that higher seat was the saving grace! I was surprise at how a few inches of seat height really made a taller person fit better on the bike. So like the point made above, if you are tall, get the City X seat and see how it fits. It really works for me. |

Ccryder that is indeed from Jerry's "neck of the woods" but I'd be surprised if he knew of it. To the best of my knowledge that car never hit the streets. The story is that the decals on that car was done as a joke in a bit of department dark humor for the Sheriff. It backfired bigtime though when a picture got posted on the internet and the local paper got a hold of it. It's actually a very professional department. But if you find that funny check this out.http://www.cafeshops.com/wellkickyourass |

To see the bags/trunk on the Buell site, follow the "Bikes and Gear" menu to the "Accessories" link for the Lightning. The new Fuell mag has a nice 2-page layout as well. |

Bob, I think I have one in stock, won't know until monday. The S3T and S3 use different L brackets, because both the Ventura rack and the saddle bag bracket use the same hard points. I know I have one or the other in stock. Is yours a T model or not? Al at American Sport Bike Call me at 760-727-2333 Monday (Message edited by al_lighton on March 13, 2005) |

Hey BluzM2- I am in the Cities right now and was going to give you a call but I forgot my PDA. I visiting my mother in the hospital. She's at Fairview on France Ave. I was going to stay until Friday but seeing this snowstorm that's coming in I think I'll head home this afternoon. I drove my car (that needs new tires) instead of the SUV. I'll email you my cell and maybe we could meet for lunch. I still have your Newfoundland t-shirt. We can also go over AZ Springfast. |

hmmm, thinking about adding an XB to my fleet of Buells, if you had to choose which would it be? the 9 or the 12? The 12 makes more power right? But the 9 is quicker? the physical specs are the same arn't they? And just what about this City X? it only comes with a 9 motor? Some good deals going on down here in Phoenix, and it's really tempting. I'm liking the new colors too. Dang it. Decisions, decisions, help me out folks! |

You could run up here and take a force piped twelve out for a spin on the spars as well if you'd like... I don't know where to find a nine for you to try as well, but maybe Brian can follow you up and you could ride his? The twelve makes a good deal more power and torque, the nine revs higher, but I'm not so sure they are quicker as such. My theory is that if you want a street bike, get a twelve and punch it out to 88" some time. If you want a track bike, get a nine and punch it out to whatever it'll go to, that way you have the higher rev limit for track use. In those cases, I would probably go with a 12S or a 9R. Keep in mind though, that I picked up the 12R for the street because I find it quite comfortable... The advantage of taking mine out is that with you being somewhere taller than 6' I'm probably closer to your weight than most of the other stick figure guys around here , so the suspension might be a little closer to something you can use. I just put new Metz M1's on it too. |
