Yeah, not getting into the whole me being a sissy South FL boy that has a hard time dealing with temperatures less then 60. Maybe I should have been more specific...The night riding is gonna be cold...for me at least |

Heck, 35 would be a welcomed heat wave. Sure beats the 11 degrees out when I went for a ride the other day. |

Well when you live in this kind of climate you have to...otherwise your riding season is WAY too short! Nothing wakes you up better for work that commuting in single digit temps! |

I'm sure. I don't think I've ever been anywhere with a temp in the single digits. I love living in South FL. I ride almost everyday. I'll take the rain over the cold any day. Snow is definitely fun though...just not for riding |

Crazy? Well, I've never claimed to be sane But really, you just have to dress for it. I've got a Buell Adventurer jacket. Some joe rocket balistic over pants. It's not that bad down to single digits. Having an S3T with a +3" Zero Grav windshield helps too. And Cruisin lives in a COLD climate! My sister who lives in Newport, VT sent me a picture of her thermometer last year. There was a 100 degree difference between inside out and out. It was -39 out. Now *THAT* would be too cold to ride in But 60? That's a heat wave! |

Not for us. We ride in jeans and t-shirts when we go out cruising. Leather or textile jacket if necessary. 60 or below and it's a long sleeve t-shirt, regular t-shirt, leather jacket, and jeans. And always wearing sneakers of some sort. Need to get some boots cause the sneakers don't cut it in the cold(my cold, not your 30's cold) I'll gear up if we're going "riding," but leather is hot during the day when it's in the 80's Gloves always of course |

Yeah, and one thing I forgot to mention... Dunlops *SUCK* in the cold. They slide out way too easy on the S3. But on a positive side, you should see the burnouts you can do when it gets this cold |

Its ez to tell the Florida residents from the tourists..65 degrees & the residents have the windows rolled up, heat on & are wearing a jacket. Tourists have the top down, tank top on & loving it. |

Yeah, that's for sure. I'll definitely be wearing jeans and jacket or sweatshirt. What separates me is I'll ride or roll the windows down. |

Was up in Daytona yesterday. Ahhhh... Saw 3 Buells total and was able to talk to one at a rest stop of all places on my way back home. Gave him my number and told him to give me a call when he wants to go riding. Great way to start Bike Week if you ask me. What's even better, not having to rent a motel. |

We were there last night. Hangin out on Main St. We're staying in Orlando by UCF. We saw a few Buells. I saw a white or silver one in a pickup heading out there last night around 9:00pm. Saw like 4 while there. One was getting a ticket right in the middle of US1 (Sorry Dude). If anyone wants to meet up, drop me and email at dleventhal@innovativenm.com. Leave your cell in the email. (My email goes to my phone). |

Yeah, it was nice during the day, but the ride from Daytona to Orlando on Friday was insanely cold. We just got home about an hour ago. Had a blast! |

Great day, great weather, great racing. Lots of crashes at the speedway today in all classes. The Thunderbike race had to be restarted twice due to crashes. Both the Harding Buells had problems after the second restart. SV 650 riders took the top two spots with Dan Bilanski on his Hal's Buell picking up third. Michael Barnes checked out on the field each time, he won by about a minute over second place. John Costa on his XB finished third in the Lightweight Grand Prix Expert class. more later as time allows (Message edited by josé_quiñones on March 07, 2005) |

Clint Brotz' bike had a neat airbox design, they combined the airbox cover and the airbox itself into one, getting more intake volume.

Hoban Bros had a weekend to forget, blowing out the bottom end of the nicest looking XB race bike I saw all day. He did not race yesterday.

Daytona being Daytona, you can't walk around with out tripping over chopper after chopper after chopper.... One bike did stand out, one because it's a Victory based custom, and second because of the front end:

I'm going to get down into daytona more this week. I'm staying about 20 min from the track. I hopew to see everyone wed night. I have a blue impala rental....my bike is sleeping quietly in NY because of all the snow i couldn't get her out of the basement without a crane. |

Today started off with a bang and ended on a sour note. The good: Today I spent most of the time at the speedway doing demo rides. All cruisers today From worst to best: Dyna Super Glide Sport, XL883R, XL1200R, the Victory Hammer and the new VRSCR Street Rod. That bike kicks ! After that hooked up with Dana, Mike, Nancy, Greg, etc. at the Convention Center to check out the HD/Buell display and talk with some of the HD folks there and most importantly to pick up our race passes for Saturday. The bad: when I walked out to my bike, my tank bag was gone. In the bag were my binoculars, some shades, my BRAG porfolio/map book, the thermostat for my heated gear and worst of all, my VANSON Suede Buell Jacket (The one I'm wearing in the picture above). That sucked, I found where the police station was a filed a report just in case. Fortunately I had locked my saddlebags or I would really be pissed cause my AMA "Sponsor" event passes were in there along with other valuable stuff. Ended up going to dinner at a really cool place, Those pictures will be up later by Greg. Tuesday is Sport bikes on the Demo Ride list, if it does not rain. The ugly: what will happen to the c*cksucker who took my bag if I ever find him. (Message edited by josé_quiñones on March 08, 2005) |
